MoMa

Last day in Manhattan before I leave tomorrow! Met up with Bella and went to the Museum Of Modern Art, or MoMA. But first I went to Pret and had breakfast, I love the lentil soup there and today I had two almond croissants. My last almond croissants at Pret for a while.
We went to MoMA to view The Scream by Edvard Munch. If you want to go to MoMa, go on a Friday after 4 30 pm, it's free to get in there then, otherwise it's $ 25 and I think that's rather steep. Anyways, The Scream is.......well it makes me FEEL something at least, sadness kind of.
It really is an amazing painting and I am glad I had the opportunity to see it. It is probably my favorite.

There were other paintings by Munch there and I thought some were quite good. He made some interesting ones. And then I saw this which is quite fitting for the world we live in, at least my world.

After MoMA I took a last stroll around town before I took the subway to Brooklyn. I am in bed with Olive now, the super cute cat I share my place with. I have to get in the shower soon. Then I am going to squeeze out what's left of the self tanner on rub it in and go to work.
My last night at New York Dolls. GOOD! I am exhausted and SO over it. I miss home.

Tuesday

I had a great day today! Happy! πŸ™‚ Went to a coffee place called Bourbon Coffee, it was really nice and super comfy inside. I took a rest, had a latte, ate and read. Look at the pretty foam ❀ I got!

Then I went shopping. My never ending daytime task here. I will show you what I got when I am back in Kenai. I don't have any time for that now. Right after I write this I am getting in the shower and then I am going to work.
A funny and strange thing happened today also......when I was waiting for the subway at Broadway/Lafayette somebody tapped me on the shoulder. It was Bella, my new friend that I had coffee with yesterday. We just somehow crossed paths today. For that to happen in New York is like finding a needle in a haystack. Weird huh?
I am super tired but I have to go to work. Rest and catching up on sleep when I am back home.......in a few days.

Meeting With New Friend

Today I met up with Bella in SoHo, we had yummy coffee at La Colombe. After that we walked around a bit until it was time for me to go. I met Bella through my blog, she found it when she was looking up info about working is Williston. πŸ™‚
After that I went to Macy's, I'm looking for some black boots. After trying on the ones at Aldo I decided that I don't like them. Asked an older lady to take my picture, she was more than happy to and didn't want to stop. Turned out she was from Belarus and has been here for one year and loves it. She dislikes Belarus and Lukashenko whom she called a dictator. She even made sure to show me the "free and very nice" public restrooms. Funny!

Here are my nails for today. ESSIE polish, gold and then a coat of pink sparkle.

I'm about to leave for work soon, got my lashes glued on already and put on some self tanner. Three more nights to go! Yeay! I love New York but I can't want to get home to my bed, my bathroom, my stuff and most of all my Chhaya! ❀ I MISS HER SO MUCH!

Work Last Saturday

Ok......work at New York Dolls this last Saturday. Too many girls for sure. Maybe it is like this because of the holidays. What happens in this club is that the guys are "spoiled" and expect you to sit down at talk to them for some time before they might even consider a dance. Like even ONE dance, after me putting in all that effort. Sorry honey, ICH DON'T THINK SO (like Bruno says). And a lot of girls also sit in the guy's lap and talk while getting groped or close to making out. I've seen it. Like WTF? Sorry, I am maybe spoiled but rightfully so. I don't want to sit in any lap until the dance is agreed on, that is why it is called a lap dance. There should be no sitting in laps and talking, that's why guys (some of them) think they are smart and wait for girls to sit in their lap so they can rub on them etc and then they might get one dance or some even decline a dance. I don't sit in laps. I definitely prefer clubs where sitting is laps is a no no. As far as talking goes, sure I love to talk but not about nonsense and bullshit. There is no sex talk coming from me, that's what phone sex is for and it comes at a high price. No flirting or false promises of meeting up, because that is not going to happen anyways. I prefer minimal talking, maybe a small introduction and then once it is established that there is going to be a dance, I do not mind being polite and nice and talk for a song or two, even more sometimes if I am actually sitting with an intelligent person, before I do the dance. But I am not going to be interviewed for forever before each dance I do, that is exhausting. Plus half of the guys I have encountered are either dumb or drunk or both, so carrying on some kind of interesting conversation is next to impossible and I am an impatient person that can't stand dummies, so that stuff drives me nuts. Can't do it. I like larger clubs with lots of guys where the girls move around more, Therefore I find it difficult to make money here. So yeah, Saturday was a joke. It took forever to get busy.
At 11 pm I looked around in the room and there was ONE lap dance being done, most girls were sitting by themselves because it took so long to fill up. I got my first dance at midnight. And then it was four hours left to make money, you make profit for yourself after you pay $ 130 to the club. Sound easy to make but it's not always so because all the other girls try to make a profit too. And some try in ways that I don't engage in.

Here is a picture of the main stage, the room is rather small. The main stage has four poles and is badly lit with bright harsh lights. Then there is a front area that has two small stages also.

And this is my new silver dress. I could go out in this on New Years!

And here are some of the club rules. I do like the manager here and the atmosphere is definitely better than at Private Eyes and the club is nicer but it is not Flashdancers........

Tired

Woke up later than I had planned.......I did set the alarm but I guess I turned it off and kept on sleeping. Feeling almost back to normal again, after being sick (and working) for over one week. It was raining today and I had plans to go to the Natural History Museum.

There is an exhibition there right now called Creatures Of Light and I find the deep sea life creatures very fascinating. Especially the crazy looking fish!

The Natural History Museum is a very interesting place. I walked around for about two hours and after that I felt exhausted and needed some Starbucks. I do not think small children belong in museums, my opinion ok. They are probably not going to remember or understand much and why pay an entry fee for a toddler that will get bored and cranky after 20 minutes. Take them to the playground instead and everybody will be happier. I did learn about the Semai people and they are my new favorite people on this planet, I think they have it figured out, we could all learn a lot from them. Curious? Read more about the Semai here

Then I also found these two fighting bull moose from my neck of the woods. I have them come through my yard.

Then I spent the whole day shopping and walking around. Came home by 9 pm tired after being out for 8 hours. I took a bath and used one of those bath bombs from Lush. I don't recommend the bath bomb, it fizzes out fast, doesn't create any lather or bubbles and doesn't smell that strong. Or maybe I need to try a different bath bomb next time? I even put a honey mask on my face. Once in a while I do make an effort to take care of my skin. I need another facial at Anastasia's. Now I am in bed, looking forward to a nice sleep. Meeting Bella tomorrow for coffee! Fun! πŸ™‚

6 am

I am soooooo tired, it's 6 am and it took forever to get home from work tonight, had to wait a long time for both trains. I met a Swedish girl at work tonight! That was fun! We were talking in Swedish, her name is Bella and she is from GΓΆteborg but lives in NY now. This is actually the first time I have met another girl from Sweden dancing and it was her first time too. I am sure there are some out there, I just haven't met them........
I am going to meet another Bella on Monday. A girl that reads my blog, she is here working too.
I have to sleep now, getting up early tomorrow, going to a museum. How was work? Don't even ask........lol.
