Yesterday on 4th of July me and Kaya hung out in my car during the fireworks. I call fireworks and anything loud that sounds like a bang "boom boom" when I explain to Kaya what it is. She can handle the fireworks when we are in the car, she looks at them, wags her tail and barks at them in an angry kind of way. She is not scared of them which I have been worried about. She handles fireworks better while together with me in the car than inside of a house or apartment. Of course I talk to her and pet her and tell her that everything is ok. My other baby Chhaya loved boom boom, she would get super excited. And my Senna just did not care, she was always happy in any situation. This was our view last night.
It is all kind of mushy in my brain......I am trying to pull out the stuff that happened at work in the last three weeks.
June 13 so week 24.....let's start with this new outfit that I got on Amazon for $16. I put it on, it was a Friday.
I don't want to order anything from Temu or Shein although the girls I work with tell me that the stuff I order from Lavah Intimates most likely comes from Shein and then Lavah ups the price. I don't know. This new outfit is not from Lavah Intimates, it is from RSLOVE and they claim to use at least 50% recycled materials, use "safer" chemicals and that the clothes are "manufactured on farms or in facilities that protect the rights and/or health of workers". But who knows.
The following evening, Saturday. Swedish word of the day. Tillsammans which means together. Some girl sitting at my stage called me a "majestic mermaid".
Ok......so week 25. What I mostly remember is a group of five people that came in Friday evening. Three women and two men. Came in drunk already. Annoying, UGLY, GROSS. Two of the women were like in their 70s. Kind of odd but whatever. One of them started making the most awful and loud sounds and coughs and sneezes over and over. Loud and obnoxius. Yes it is OK to cough and sneeze but if you do it over and over AND in a way that is abnormally obnoxious somebody might say something. OK? So I glared at the 70 something woman that SHOULD know better but to behave like that out in public. Her friend (not the other 70 something but another woman in the group) noticed me glaring and loudly started making comments about fighting me. Yes please......just touch me violently ONE time and it will be on camera and then we will see what will happen to you. Just one time. As the night went on they got more drunk. One of the men bothered a NICE couple while they were sitting on my stage. They got so bothered by him that they decided to leave. He was hanging on the woman slurring some drunk talk inches from her face with his beer and cigarette breath in her face. So gross. I would had left too. Then the woman that wanted to fight decided that SOMEBODY stole her cell phone and of course it MUST had been one of the STRIPPERS that stole it because as everybody knows......ALL strippers steal everything from the people that go to strip clubs. And we do drugs all night long and we also have sex with each other and with every person that walks in. Just common knowledge.
So one of my co workers Sabrina and myself tried to help the drunk to find her cell phone. The drunk started glaring at Sabrina, that is not even five foot tall and weighs maybe 100 lbs at the most and loudly declared......"you stole my phone and put it in your crotch". And she meant every word. I got really upset and loudly yelled at her to shut her dumb mouth and get the fuck away. Shortly after that one of the drunk 70 something women decided that her purse was missing and OF COURSE one of us MUST had taken it. She started SCREAMING on top of her lungs, like screaming like she belonged in a mental asylum. Our stressed out bartender offered to show her the video that clearly showed her walk out of the club with her purse hanging form her shoulder and then coming back in without a purse but of course she refused to believe that. The video also showed that it was one of the men in the group that took the agressive drunk's cellphone. They were told to leave. I hope they never come back.
It is very unfortunante that this club attracts drunk scumbags. Like I do not want to be around them or talk to them. Seriously we get some really trashy patrons, a lot, too many. It is too bad because we have some really nice and talented dancers. I am not in there to be accused of stuff that I would never do. No I would never steal somebody's purse, phone or money. Camera or no camera. I also have zero interest in getting drunk with you, doing drugs (I would never do drugs in the club, what a waste of drugs to be high in there, NO thank you) and I also have ZERO interest in having any form of sex with 99.99% of the people I encounter in there. Ya even if you offer me money. Just NO.
do not understand how people behave in public. I would NEVER go in to a place and loudly cough and sneeze and make insane sounds. Like WTF is wrong with people?
Saturday the 21st I took off.
So last week, week 26. I was off Tuesday. Wednesday I made all of $9 after house fee. I spent most of my evening in the dressing room. I do not work Thursdays but the girls told me that there were people in the club and they were rude and not tipping. Nobody made over the house fee amount and some girls went home negative.
That cab driver who got offended a while ago because I had the audacity (!!!) to aks him if he wanted a dance came in Friday. He tried to talk to me and I reminded him of what he had said and of his behavior and told him to talk to one of the other girls if he wanted to talk.
I discovered Saturday that somebody (not me) wrote in the Swedish word of the day. Jättebra which means very good. I had a good night.
But again, some moron was coughing and sneezing so much that he had saliva and snot running down his chin. I sat across the bar from him and asked him if he had ebola. And I told him to stop being disgusting. He coughed and sneezed into his hands and then wiped them across his face. I don't even know what to say. Very gross and disturbing. He said he was Ukrainian and Russian. Weird combo but whatever. He was a drunk idiot and that was that.
Coughing and/or sneezing into your hands? NO. DO BETTER. Thanks. Especially do not do it in the grocery store and then touch fruits and vegetables with your germy hands. Blergh. I knew in first grade, six years old, how to properly cough and sneeze.
A guy with some sort of a getting stepped on fetish came in. He started by putting down a blanket he wanted us to walk on. Then put his hand down on the stage rack asking for us to step on it with our shoes. He got some dances too where stepping of some sort got incorporated. I did not dance for him because I was busy but he did come up to me to ask me what shoes I wore to work and I told him I wore flip flops and I knew that is not what he was looking for. He said he will come back. I should also add that he was very polite, nice, grateful and tipping and buying dances. I take a well behaved guy with a somewhat unusual fetish, as long as nobody gets hurt any night over belching drunk loud gross behaving troglodytes.
What else happened? I can't really remember anything besides this.......if I can think of something else I will add it.
I still volunteer with Pet Pack in Portland although not as often as I would like to since I moved to Astoria. It is 100 miles (American miles) one way in between Astoria and Portland. I really like volunteering downtown Portland. People that never been there think that is is some insane place.....based on whatever footage they have seen on the news or some other outlet. I like Portland. Maybe I will move back there, that would be nice.
Pet Pack has Instagram, PetPackPDX.
And a picture of my baby. She is amazing. All dogs are amazing. All animals are amazing. I love all animals. I wish I could help every animal in need. I think about that a lot. And it makes me sad that I probably will never be able to do what I would like to do, what I dream of wanting to do for animals. Thank You to everybody out there that cares about animals.
I discovered that you can get an "Astoria Frog" at Sleeper Coffee. And it is YUMMY! I had it several times now. It is really a London Fog but I guess Astoria Frog sounds more fun.
And then you can sit and sip on that beverage while looking at this view.....
I attended two protests. The one at the Portland ICE facility on Thursday. ICE stands for Immigration and Customs Enforcement. When I was there it was peaceful and I did not see police at all. I was there for about 90 minutes or so. The crowd had gathered in front of the ICE building and then there was a walk to a nearby park. After reading the news I learned that Portland police declared the protest a riot earlier today and there were clashes between protesters and the police.
And this afternoon I attended the No Kings protest in Astoria.
And this cutie attended a protest in Beaverton, I got this picture sent to me.
The First Amendment to the US Constitution protects fundamental freedoms. Freedom of Speech, Freedom of the Press, Freedom of Assembly and Freedom to Petition are guaranteed. Those are the freedoms I feel relate to protests, demonstrations and voicing your opinions even if such opinions do not support the people in power whether it is through speaking or writing. I have a feeling it will be a crazy summer. And I said that at the beginning of the week.....I don't know what to say. I am tired. Like tired of the state of the world. I am glad that I attended the protests. It gives you some hope. For a little bit. And then you get faced with reality again.
Well I finally saw The Goonies movie. And what better way to see it than in the town it was filmed, Astoria Oregon during the Goonies 40th celebration that was happening here in town this past weekend.
I saw it last Sunday at the Columbian Theater.
I totally understand why people love The Goonies and why they get so sentimental about it. It does have everything that is exciting for a child. I really liked it. I will definitely watch it again if I get the chance sometime.
