What burns during Burning Man? The Man always burns and so does the Temple. Man on Saturday and Temple on Sunday. During the week leading up to those burns there are usually some other art installations going up in flames. I think that probably 90% of the population at Black Rock City gather around in a circle around the Man to watch "him" burn. The fireworks are always spectacular. Extra bonus.....no animals get traumatized.
The Temple is just heartbreaking. But beautiful. Just walking inside the Temple during the week makes me cry. In 2018 I brought Chhaya's ashes with me to Burning Man. I did not spread any of the ashes, they ashes are intact. Still. This year I brought my Mom's ashes to Burning Man and I held her ashes while the Temple burned. And I put my Mom's pictures in the Temple, together with my Senna's pictures and my soulmate's pictures in there as well. At this point I am only here because I have Kaya and because I am still alive. But I am SAD. I am looking for signs everywhere from them from wherever they are and I got some at Burning Man. The fire from the Temple was burning strong and hot. It is really intese......many emotions. A lot of people are crying. Why does it hurt so much to be alive?
