Rape

So most people that live in the US heard about the horrific rape that happened in India back in December, unless you live under a rock or do not care about any kind of media, well good that you read my blog at least.
I felt SO bad for the girl that suffered through that and have thought of her pretty much every day since I heard about that rape. If you do not know about it.....the girl got gang-raped on a bus by six men and brutally sodomized, she later died from her injuries. She was only 23. As I am writing this I am fighting back tears. I know that there have been other rapes in India and all over the world since then. It happens all the time.
The problem with India and countries where many view woman as property or second class citizens is that rape often goes unpunished when reported. The men get a slap on the wrist, they might pay a bribe and get away with no punishment. Many of the women are ashamed that they got raped, many do not report it because they do not want to bring shame on their family.
I even read that the scumbag defense lawyer appointed to a few of the so called human beings that committed the rape made a public statement in where he put some of the blame on the victim. You know, she was asking for it type of mentality. Really? She was asking for it? This poor girl, OMG my heart aches for her. Yeah, she asked to get her intestines pulled out, to get a metal rod shoved in her, to have six nasty strangers taking turns gang-raping her.
" The lawyer representing three of the men accused of gang-raping a student aboard a bus in India last month blamed the victim for the attack, saying "respected" women in India are not raped.
Manohar Lal Sharma said 23-year-old Jyoti Singh Pandey and her male friend were "wholly responsible" for the horrific torture they suffered in the Dec. 16 attack in New Delhi because they were an unmarried couple on the streets at night, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.
"Until today I have not seen a single incident or example of rape with a respected lady," Sharma told the newspaper. "Even an underworld don would not like to touch a girl with respect."
WTF????????!!!!
Or how about a statement made by some obviously delusional self proclaimed Indian "spiritual" leader.
"Asaram Bapu told followers in a sermon that the victim was as responsible as her attackers, and that she should have "chanted god's name" and "fallen at their feet" to beg for mercy. "Guilt is not one-side" Bapu said in the sermon. “She should have called the culprits brothers and begged before them to stop," he added."

I am sure she did BEG THEM TO STOP!!!!! I want all six to die, execute them! Why waste any money on keeping them alive, feeding them, giving them space. Kill them. Of course they are all pleading not guilty and might get out of this free. But you know what, if even one of them did not want to participate in the rape or felt against it, I guess he could had gotten off that bus!
But none of them got off the bus.

I am not saying that rapes do not happen here in the US, yes women get raped here too. But the majority of the public's ATTITUDES towards rape differs. You are not going to have some defense lawyer making a public statement in a case like this saying that the victim asked for it or that respectable women don't get raped. I mean, that would cause huge protests and I don't even think a defense lawyer would dare say something like that here (in the US), he would get fired and shunned by society. And rightfully so. Or dudes walking around thinking that raping somebody is not a big deal and that they can just rape and most likely get away with it. Yes, men rape women here but I suspect most of them are aware that rape is punishable and not accepted.
You know, I thought about it when I was at the gym last week. I was walking on the treadmill, in the same room as me were five guys also working out. I was the only girl. Not even once did I feel afraid that even one of them would dare put a finger on me, let alone that all five would gang up and hurt me in any kind of way. I feel that I can move around freely and do whatever without some man acting in a threatening way towards me. Sure there have been times when I have looked over my shoulder, walking home alone at night for example. Or to my car. I rather make sure I am safe. I've had confrontations with dumb asses that mouth off to me at work but I am not afraid that they are going to rape me. And I do not feel that a woman should EVER feel shame if a man rapes her.
But I guess in places like India and many other countries as a woman you can't ever feel safe. You live in fear or you just stay away from society and stay inside or hide under a burqa when doing errands because men supposedly can't control themselves when around women that show some skin, even if it's just some arm or a lower leg or form fitting clothing.
FUCK THAT! It makes me so pissed off! Women should carry around tasers or guns and blast perverts in the nut sack if they even step an inch too close for their comfort. It is not the women that should avoid going about their business in society. If men can't control themselves and their sexual "urges" or whatever it is that makes somebody commit a rape then it is the men that need to avoid being out in society. Impose mandatory chemical castration on men that show a behavior that might lead to rape.
And don't think for a second that I am some kind of an angry man hater or think that all men are no good rapists. Absolutely not. I would never be around men as much as I am if I hated them,
I could never torture myself like that.

I found a blog called www.whiteindianhousewife.com
It's really interesting and Sharell, the woman writing the blog touches on the rape issue slightly, you can read that entry here
And make sure to read the comments too!
Well, with having said all of this, I am going to take out my contacts and try to sleep. It's almost 4 am and dark outside. I feel sad for the Indian girl and her family......... deep sigh . I hope she is in a beautiful place now. And I am grateful that I am free and that my snoring baby Chhaya is laying next to me in bed. Kicking me and showing her teeth, she is dreaming. So cute!

I Absolutely Agree

Today has been a great day so far. Me and Chhaya just got back from a one hour walk outside in the sunshine. I make hearts in the snow around here, it's my message to others kind of and also I think the heart symbol is cute.
I think I am going into work tonight, I am missing my girls at work.

So......I just came across an article that I absolutely agree with. Some guy named David Attenborough calls human kind the plague on the Earth and says that population growth will outsource resources and there will be a lack of space. I have always believed in population control myself. Many think that limiting the amount of children you have is like being told what to do by the government, like in China and everybody is free and can do whatever they want, right? Well, at least generally speaking in countries like the US and Sweden, two places I can say that I have lived long enough so I can make statements like these and feel like I am making a valid point. You know, we think we are FREE but are we REALLY? That's another subject in itself, lets' get back on track and talk some more about the 7 billion plus people that exist on the planet today.
I think one child, MAX two per woman. Not per couple since people get together and have children with a bunch of different people, PER WOMAN. And since gay males also want children (some of them) I would say they can adopt as many as they want, if they can provide a good home for the kids or get a surrogate that can give them one, MAX two kids. Of course certain circumstances like the death of a child would allow you to have another........But if you want more "because you just loooooove being a Mom" or "just looooooove children soooooo much" or "want to give the little monsters you already have a sibling" then STOP and THINK a little.
Don't be selfish, think about your children's future, yes even YOUR future, have you though of what this place that we call Earth might look like 10 -20 years from now if all that we do is reproduce and consume? If you really looooooove children so much then maybe you should look into taking in a foster child or adopting a child. Plenty of unwanted children out there that long for somebody of quality to love them and give them a home. And with somebody of quality I mean, a family or a single parent that is willing to put in the time and effort it takes to be a good parent. People that reproduce and have no means to care for their children and rely on the state (welfare) for assistance or abuse their children I do not respect at all. Just because you squeeze out a child doesn't mean that you are a parent, you gave life - now take responsibility for it!
And to mention the article, some other guy name Paul Ehrlich says, "government propaganda, taxes, giving every sexually active human being access to modern contraception and backup abortion, and, especially, giving women absolutely equal rights and opportunities with men might very well get the global population shrinkage required if a collapse is to be avoided". Again......I absolutely agree.
And to quote another person from the same article, Jerry Karnas, "what's needed is not population control but a real emphasis on reproductive rights, women's empowerment, universal access to birth control and education, so more freedom for folks to make better, more informed family planning choices." Yes, ok he is mentioning reproductive rights. I do not think every idiot out there should have the right to reproduce, no I don't.......sorry. That goes back to that I do not think that every person is fit to be a parent. If you have no control over your own life, if it's spiraling out of control, if you are heavily addicted to drugs and/or alcohol, if you don't have an income then HOW are you going to be a quality parent? How? Shape up, get on track, make some positive changes and then think about having a baby.
I have a very good friend in Sweden, she is married and has two boys. A while back she mentioned that she would like to have another child, a girl because she wants a girl and also she misses the time when her boys were babies. So......I gave her some of my thoughts.......what I think about having what I think are too many kids and the present problem with what I believe is an over populated planet. If she wants a girl she can adopt one, I think. Then at least she will get a girl for sure.
And you know, having a difference of opinions and beliefs doesn't mean that you can't be friends. I welcome people into my life that are open to discussion, then I can learn something of value hopefully and keep and open and always evolving mind.
But you know.......the issue with over population......it is definitely a very important subject.
You might not think about it too much but you should. And I think that every adult has a responsibility to do something positive for the Earth, something. THINK a little, don't just barge through life like you don't care about anything or anyone but yourself. Don't take life on Earth for granted!

Another Dusty Douchebag

I recently saw off some friends that I had over for a dinner at my place. I like making nice dinners once in a while, lighting many candles and having friends over. I tried a recipe for a chicken dish that I have never made before. Yes, I do eat meat once in a while, although it's rare. The chicken, chicken thighs to be precise I stuffed with crushed walnuts. Then I folded the thigh and attached the ends with a toothpick, then fried the chicken in the frying pan in butter. I made some mashed potatoes that I served topped with roasted walnuts. I also made two sauces, avocado sauce for the chicken and brown sauce for the potatoes. I made the avocado sauce from scratch and the brown sauce came out of a bag. Very yummy! Dessert - blueberries, strawberries and fresh whipped cream. And champagne, it was a belated New Years dinner.
It was so good that I think I am going to invite a few of my girlfriends from work in a few weeks for the same meal, a Valentine's Day celebration. I am already looking forward to it.

So I sat down in bed, opened up my laptop and saw this article on msn.......

"Texas lawmakers are cracking down on strip clubs. State Rep. Bill Zedler has authored a bill requiring exotic dancers to get a license -- and wear the document while performing.
Asking strippers to get licensed is nothing new. Several cities in America already have that requirement. But Zedler is getting attention for his suggestion that the dancers "conspicuously display" the license -- with their real names on it -- while working.
Zedler, a conservative Republican, thinks it might deter women from choosing the profession. "They won't want to get a license as a stripper from the state of Texas," he said, according to the Star-Telegram. "I think it would keep a lot of girls from getting involved in that lifestyle and basically wrecking their lives."
In order to get the license, strippers would need to be at least 18 years old and take a class about human trafficking awareness and reporting. The license will not be given to anyone previously convicted for human trafficking, prostitution, public lewdness or possession of child pornography. "This will force everyone to clean up their act," he told the Star-Telegram.
"Overall, it will be a benefit to everyone concerned."

Bill Zedler a conservative Republican is also a dusty old douchebag! How typical that some old man that has not much knowledge of strip clubs besides the obvious - that girls take their clothes off in them, is taking it upon himself to crack down on strip clubs!
Ummmmmm......you HAVE to be 18 to strip. Hello! Unless you use a fake ID. I highly doubt that any girls working as dancers are into child pornography. I don't know if the same goes for some of the men that go to the clubs. Human trafficking? I am absolutely against human trafficking and have even mentioned it several times in my blog. I have never witnessed or suspected any human trafficking going on in any club I have worked in. I did hear of some girls at Crazy Horse Too in Las Vegas that supposedly had pimps. I am absolutely against pimping as well. I think there is much more prostitution and human trafficking going on at truck stops across America, massage parlors, the streets and motel rooms where men go after responding to sex ads they find online. I have personally NEVER slept with anyone or done anything sexual for money.
I guess you can argue that going on stage topless and/or naked and doing lap dances is sexual although I personally do not feel like it is sex at all. To me it's entertainment. Nobody is touching any of my "private" parts ever, that INCLUDES my boobs. To me that WOULD be sexual and I am not at work to engage in that. I never put my hands down in anyone's pants or give them any kind of happy ending. If you really want to know I can count on less than my five fingers on one hand how many guys I have slept with in the last ten years. I do not like to be intimate with many people. But that's me. Other girls might not feel the same way and that is ok too as long as they do what they want.
Bill Zedler is talking about forcing everyone to clean up their act. Really? My act is clean.
I am NOT ashamed that I am a dancer (my occupation doesn't define me), I am supporting myself, nobody is taking care of me. I am not on welfare. In fact, I have economically helped out several people throughout the years. I'm a rather generous person. I do not feel like I am wrecking my life. I have worked with girls that had a very promising professional career staked out for themselves outside of the strip club and I have also worked with girls that didn't.
But that's life. Not everybody is working on some kind of a career. Just like the reference Bill Zelder make about "the lifestyle". What lifestyle? Drinking and drugs perhaps? If you are into booze and drugs you are most likely going to do that regardless of the strip club. There are plenty of addicts out there that have nothing to do with strip clubs.
I don't drink at work, neither do I use drugs at work. And that reflects on my life outside of the club as well. I rarely drink or do drugs. But if I am going to do that I am for sure going to enjoy my drugs or alcohol to the fullest in some fun place and that would not be at work.
I do not feel like I'm doing anything wrong by dancing. Bill Zelder should look into his own act and do some cleaning up himself, what a righteous pontificating prick! As far as displaying a license with your real name, first and last...... Why? What's the point of that? To scare girls off from dancing? To display our personal identity so perhaps some sexual predator we might encounter at work can find us, stalk us and maybe hurt us? So then the guys that go to clubs and the women that come in as guests too for that matter should display a badge with their first and last name I assume? That would only be fair. Not that I meet many sexual predators at work
(I hope), I meet mostly nice people believe it or not. Some are assholes and annoying but that's good because that gives me material for my blog! 🙂
In Las Vegas you do need to get a sheriffs card before you can get hired in any of the clubs in the city. The sheriffs card is valid for ten years. They basically check that you are eligible for work in the US, that you are of age and not convicted of a felony. Fine. You need to have something similar to work in the casinos in Vegas too. I am aware of a few other clubs around the country that require something like a sheriffs card too. But to talk about prostitution, child pornography and forcing people to clean up their act, that is taking it too far. Bill Zelder is basically saying that all dancers (strippers) are prostitutes, might be engaging in child pornography and are overall no good and lewd women. So not true! And very disrespectful of him. As a feminist I am protesting this.
Sure, some dancers sleep with guys they meet in the club. Some for money and some because they want to. It is actually possible to meet somebody you really like inside a strip club. I know of girls that have met the love of their life in the club. Marriage and happiness ever after - or something like that....... And yes some clubs are "dirty" and the owners and managers should make sure that the dancers follow the rules and get rid of the ones that don't. Then girls like me would thrive. I would love to meet this Bill Zelder for a debate. And good luck on passing that bill, Bill. Don't you have anything more important to deal with in Texas?

Sleepy

Hi all my fans! ;-)
Tatiana is at home in bed, flipping through the latest ELLE magazine and watching Jay Leno. Jennifer Lawrence is on the cover of ELLE and also Leno's guest tonight. Tatiana thinks that Jennifer is a very good looking girl. Some people look so much better in a picture than live.
This morning for example, Katie Holmes was a guest on LIVE with Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan, she does not look that great at all but made up and photo shopped in a picture she can actually look deceivingly pretty.
Speaking of tv shows, one of Tatiana's dream jobs would probably be to take over the job of either Kathie Lee, Hoda Kotb or Kelly Ripa. They seem to have so much fun, while in New York City of all places. Dream job in a dream location. And Michael Strahan is a giant teddy bear, Tatiana loves him as the new co host. You might wonder what Tatiana does watching the TODAY show and LIVE? Well, they come on at 10 and 11 am and that's when Tatiana usually wakes up, she doesn't like to jump out of bed as soon as she opens her eyes, unless she really has to be somewhere. Instead, she cuddles with Chhaya, watches tv with one eye and drifts in and out of sleep until she finally gets up and gets her latte somewhere. And she likes Kathie Lee and Hoda, they are fun to wake up to.
This was Tatiana's delicious dinner for the evening. Fruit plate - blueberries, strawberries, bananas, apples and Tatiana added cottage cheese on top. 4 %, Tatiana does not like the low fat or non fat foods, neither the sugar free foods.

Speaking of food. Thanksgiving is soon. Tatiana does not understand all the hysteria about NEEDING a turkey on the table. Sure it is a tradition in this country but really? Is is THAT important? Thanksgiving is supposedly about giving thanks but it seems to be more about the food and what deal you might score at some large chain store like Best Buy or Wal Mart.
Tatiana would never camp out some store for days in order to get some gadget. She would maybe camp out for some rave tickets though......
Seems like Thanksgiving is about gluttony big time. Tatiana thinks that turkey is tasty but hasn't had any in years. The poor turkeys are so mistreated their whole short life and shock fed hormones. How else do you think they get so big in such a short time? And that is what people want to eat.....HAVE TO eat, a bird full of growth hormones and probably antibiotics too. The best thing would be to get the turkey from some farm that raises them as "nice" and clean as possible or you can get one from Whole Foods, Tatiana fave store btw. Tatiana likes Whole Foods more than Nordstrom or Saks. Whole Foods is the best.
And what about all the places that feed Thanksgiving food to the "homeless and needy"? Turkey. They are already feeding a ton of people "in need" in Anchorage, some of them probably show up at the shelters so they don't have to buy their own Thanksgiving food, they don't want to spend their own money. After watching some the folks getting their free meals on tv today, that is the assessement Tatiana made. Seems like some of them were there for the free food and they will go back tomorrow and the next day and the next.......although they can afford buying their own food.
And maybe you shouldn't be popping out a kid once a year if you can't feed yourself? How about that?
Sure, it is important to feed the needy, hungry and homeless. Tatiana believes in helping.
But some people don't want to help themselves. Or don't do anything to improve their situation, sometimes make it worse. How is having a baby going to solve any problems? And if you think you have problems and a difficult economy having one kid, wait until you get another one -or even better a few more! Party time!
Tatiana doesn't think that turkey should be pushed so hard for Thanksgiving. They are always advertising that they need more turkeys donated to the shelters this time of year, how many turkeys do they need? It seems to never be enough. And if you are needy and homeless then whatever they serve at the shelter should be good enough. Eat potatoes and veggies and be freakin' happy and give thanks! Tatiana is happy when she eats her potatoes and veggies.

Forward

I just watched Obama's acceptance speech. I think it was a good one with a great message, no matter where you stand in the political spectrum it is important to work together for the greater good. My opinions will differ from yours, we all come from different backgrounds but that doesn't mean that we can't get along. And respect each other.
Here are some snippets from the speech that I especially liked......

".....the belief that while each of us will pursue our own individual dreams, we are an American family and we rise or fall together as one nation and as one people."

"That’s where we need to go -- forward.
Now, we will disagree, sometimes fiercely, about how to get there. As it has for more than two centuries, progress will come in fits and starts. It’s not always a straight line. It’s not always a smooth path."

"But that doesn’t mean your work is done. The role of citizens in our Democracy does not end with your vote. America’s never been about what can be done for us. It’s about what can be done by us together through the hard and frustrating, but necessary work of self-government. That’s the principle we were founded on."

"I have always believed that hope is that stubborn thing inside us that insists, despite all the evidence to the contrary, that something better awaits us so long as we have the courage to keep reaching, to keep working, to keep fighting."

"......it doesn’t matter who you are or where you come from or what you look like or where you love. It doesn’t matter whether you’re black or white or Hispanic or Asian or Native American or young or old or rich or poor, able, disabled, gay or straight......"

I like the part about that a citizens role doesn't end with a vote. I believe that every adult here on this planet has a personal responsibility to try to be a good person and do their part in the collective good for humanity, no matter where you live. You can always do SOMETHING good. Every effort, big or small counts.
I like that Obama seems to love his wife very much, he has a beautiful family. And I also like that he is open-minded to gay issues. A president should be open-minded and forward thinking.
That whole mumbo jumbo about abortion and rape that came out of some stuffy old confused mans mouth is just ridiculous.
I belive in womens rights and pro choice in case you wonder.
I also believe in population control, animal rights, peace, the urgent need to address environmental issues, that people need to stop littering, the legalization of drugs, the importance of education, personal freedom, free health care paid for by taxes, much less pro-corporate, the importance of human rights, not too much government interference and an honest government that works for the people and wants the good for people in general with no hypocricy, lies and much less emphasis of the love of money.

And no, I didn't vote. I can't, I am not a citizen. But I did make sure to take somebody to vote, so I think I contributed somewhat.
Who would I had voted for? Hmmmmmmm, I would had probably voted Independent.
That's all from me for now......GOOD NIGHT!

Got Coffee

I got my coffee for today. There is a bakery in Gregory with decent coffee and pastries. It's owned by an old lady that is half deaf. When I asked for "a receipt" she thought I was asking for whiskey! I had to repeat myself three times and finally made a hand gesture pretending to write something and then she got it. Yeah, can I have some whiskey with that coffee and Bavarian Cream doughnut at 11 AM please?
It is still windy here, 68 mph, I think it's kind of scary, signs have blown down, trucks rolled over on the highways around here and fires are spreading, power outages.
I hope I don't get stuck here! What a nightmare that would be.
So I have been showing my "intellectual" side at work the last two nights discussing politics, impressing the hunters with my wit and knowledge. Since nobody is buying dances.
I think politics is a bunch of mumbo jumbo with it all revolving around doing favors for the people who give you the most money. Corruption.
I'm not going to get into it too much but if I had the power to change things around I would make it illegal for people on welfare to keep popping out kids just so they can collect money for their lazy asses. If you can't afford to feed yourself you shouldn't have kids. Simple.
Everybody can fall on hard times in life but things don't get any easier if you decide to get pregnant.
Also, population control - worldwide. Too many people on the planet, not enough resources and from what I've seen (especially this last week), many of them seem to have the mental capacity of an inbred. Scary. Beer can glued to hand, mouth agape with a string of drool coming out of it and can barely form a three word sentence. Yikes!
Legalize drugs already. I don't do them, I have but the times are few and far in between. The reasons to why drugs should be legalized are many and valid, plus people use drugs anyways legal or not.
I already know who I would vote for if I could. Since I am not a US citizen I can't vote. But if I could I would and it would be for these two. Just to make things more interesting! Like Romney is that much better than Sheen anyways. At least Charlie is funny.

So we have to gather at the club at 5 PM today, why I don't know. Probably to discuss how we are going to handle the sudden influx of people that are supposedly amassing here this weekend, I hope so because so far it has been a disaster.
