Tuesday Activities

My Tuesday activities started with meeting my breast friend Roxy at Madhouse Coffee.

Then we went to her house. Roxy has one of the nicest homes I have ever stepped my foot into. I love her place. Not only that, she is also an artist. Some people call themselves "artists" but there is no evidence of it. Roxy doesn't speak of herself like that, she doesn't have to.
Her home is filled with beautiful paintings that she painted. Used art supplies, not only for decoration, can be found all over her house. I'm very impressed with her many talents.

I've encountered people that call themselves all kinds of stuff.....writer, photographer, artist, professional bullshitter and bla bla bla. Look, if you write something in a journal or a diary once in a while you're not a writer. Lengthy Facebook posts are included in this. If you take a selfie, a pic of your kid/s or a sunset and post it on Facebook you're not a photographer. There seems to be some confusion regarding this and that is my opinion. I write my blog almost daily and put up a ton of pics on here that I take myself but no, I do not consider myself to be a writer and a photographer. I don't make a living writing or taking pictures. When people ask me what I do I don't say, "I'm a writer" or "I'm a photographer." The blog might come up in a conversation but more often that not, it won't. Plus hello.....anybody can have a blog. There are supposedly millions of blogs out there. I doubt all those people make a living writing. I don't - but hey.....if you know how I can make a living writing my blog like I've been doing for almost a decade now, let me know! I'm too lazy to figure it out myself.
After my visit with Roxy I was starving. Got food at Whole Foods, shared some of my meal with Chhaya. Then I did errands. Look at these FUN items I brought home with me.
Exciting stuff like faucet knobs, a ball rod and some other things. I can tell you this, I'm losing my patience with the ball rod! The installation of it is not working out for me. Water is seeping out from underneath the sink. I will continue working on this problem tomorrow. I want to sleep now.

One more thing.....check out this short and very interesting cartoon about living in Raqqa for women.

Ritual

Back in the day when I lived in Vegas full time me and Julia had a Sunday ritual. Fashion Show Mall while each sipping on an iced vanilla latte with whipped from Nordstrom. Well, we did just that today. Christmas decorations are already on full display at the mall, a bit early we both thoughts since we haven't even passed Thanksgiving yet.

Then I dragged Julia to the Bellagio because I wanted to see the Autumn Celebration theme at the Conservatory & Botanical Garden before they take it down and replace it with the Christmas theme. It was very pretty. I took pics of the mushrooms, the enchanted trees, the animals etc but they didn't come out too good. It's still flip flop season (for me at least) in Vegas during the day but when the sun goes down it becomes chilly and I change to sneakers.

The view from the rooftop parking at the Bellagio is pretty nice.

Then I took Chhaya for some outside time. She is so beautiful! ❤

Then I was starving and picked up some of those amazing fries and a Greek salad from Paymon's Mediterranean Cafe. Dinner is not complete without dessert so I got a slice of double cream lemon pie from Marie Callender's. These fries are so good. I ate so much that I felt super tired when I was done = food coma.

Agenda

Work is on the agenda this weekend. It's so difficult for me to go to work when I'm in Vegas. Well, when I'm anywhere that's home, like Kenai too when I lived there. Same thing there, difficult to go to work. There are so many other things that I could do instead of working.....like see a friend, or stay home and do nothing in particular besides listen to the radio, read a book, watch a movie, clean, cuddle with Chhaya etc. When you don't have a schedule and you rely only on yourself for motivation it can be challenging to start getting ready for work around 7 pm and then drive to work and then be around sometimes annoying idiots and other times fun people. When I travel for work I am there for that purpose only and I'm really good at working every night. Because I'm motivated and not at home where I have other distractions. I talked to my friend Janis about this last night, she completely feels the same way. I think most of us dancers do. Well, I did go to work last night. Nothing out of the ordinary happened.....sorry, no entertaining work stories to share with you. Besides a pic from work.

Right now I'm at Sambalatte, having breakfast. I'm reading about the latest turmoil, more deaths and more terror, in the world and it's just so sad all of it. I got teary eyed and had to stop reading for a while. I read about the anti terror plea by the Muslims in France. I like that, I think they have to and SHOULD step up and be very vocal and visible about denouncing what IS and all the other terrorist groups are doing in the name of Islam......Supposedly the "religion of peace", when they storm into places round up and murder innocent people while shouting Allahu Akbar. And then I read about the blindfolded Muslim man that stood alone in a public and busy place in Paris with a sign that read " “I’m a Muslim but I’m told I’m a terrorist. I trust you. Do you trust me? If yes, hug me.” I think that is beautiful, I would had hugged him. It's a heartwarming gesture but it does not take away the fact that so many people have been murdered by these terrorist organizations. I grew with friends from all over the world and two of my closest friends in Sweden are Muslim, Zakia (Morocco) and Taleb (Lebanon) - I care deeply for them. Sigh.....so sad all of this. So sad. Well, I need to get going.

Colorful Vocabulary

Yesterday evening I drove to Barnes & Noble to look at some books. When I was done I walked back to my car and discovered that I could not find the car key in my purse or in my jacket. Chances were high that I had locked the key in the car because that has happened several times before but this time I felt pretty sure that I had not done that mistake - again.
I went back into Barnes & Noble twice and backtracked my every move in there but no key was to be found.
I borrowed a flashlight and tried to see if my key was somewhere in the car, it was dark out and poor Chhaya that was locked up in the car wondered what I was doing and when we were going home. I felt SOOOOO annoyed! Well, thank goodness for friends.....Mikey came and rescued me. He picked me up, drove me home, I got my spare key and we drove back to Barnes & Noble. During our time we discussed the current situation in the world......Paris, refugees, Sweden, religion etc. We had a great talk. I love my friends.
Anyhow, this morning while I was getting ready to leave my house and take Chhaya to the vet some old fogbone lady flags me down and starts yapping about something that should be none of her business. If you think that all old people are innocent saints maybe you should stop reading now. No, I do not hold the belief that all older people are nice and should be respected no matter what they do. You get the respect you deserve, so I called the old fogbone a "fucking bitch" and yes she heard me loud and clear (GOOD!) and then I went on with my day. Listen, mind your own business people and get involved when necessary OK? Go home and turn on a talk show or something and leave me the fuck alone. If you have something constructive to come with.....fine then I will listen. But otherwise I will tell you what's on my mind. Like you are annoying lady......get a life!
Then it was vet time. Chhaya has been having issues with her paws lately, some hot spots have been coming and going on two paws, she has been licking there and one nail has been bleeding a bit. I've been cleaning her paws and washing them and thought the issue was going away but no. Then I have been suspecting an ear issue too, although the vet in Kenai that issued Chhaya her travel certificate looked in her ears and said they looked fine. I clean Chhaya's ears frequently so it's not like they are dirty. Well, Chhaya does not like going to the vet but she is very well behaved nevertheless. And brave. And very much a Mommy's girl when we are there. The verdict? Chhaya has some kind of allergy and I need to bathe her twice a week for two weeks to get whatever she might be carrying in her fur and skin cleaned off. She got a medicated spray for her paws. And she has yeast in one ear!
So both ears need to be flushed with an ear rinse twice daily and I have to put an ointment in the bad ear twice a day for a week. AND she is going to get Benadryl too, every day for a week. Yes, Benadryl the allergy and anti itch pill that you can get in the grocery store, I guess it's safe to give Benadryl to dogs as long as you check with your vet about the appropriate dosage. We are going back for a check up next Friday. I'm glad I went and had her looked at. Now I can cure her of whatever it is that's bothering her.
So then......my spare car key decided it did not want to work. So for about ten minuted or so I could not turn the key over in the ignition. I had a small panic attack. But finally the key turned. I called Barnes & Noble and yes indeed, they had found my car key. I must had put it down somewhere while looking at books yesterday, even for me that's being unusually confused. Hello Alzheimers? So I drove there and picked it up. Then home to wash bedding, flush Chhaya's ears, give her a bath, medicate her bad ear and paws and feed her dinner. Phew.....how do people with kids do it?
Bathing is not Chhaya's favorite thing to do but sometimes necessary.

After that I had to go and get something to eat myself. When I'm in the Trader Joe's parking lot looking for parking, a dumb woman puts away her shopping cart BY the area for the shopping carts but on the outside of it, she walks away and the cart rolls away and stops in front of my car blocking me and another car approaching from the other side. So I get out of the car and move the stray cart into the designated shopping cart area so it can't roll out into the parking lot. Meanwhile that dumb ass is sitting in her car that my car just so happened to be blocking, she looks at me and asks me with an attitude what I'm doing.
What bitch???? I calmly inform her that I had to move the cart she left out of the way.
She proceeds to do that violin hand movement, do you know what I mean? Really now? So I call her a fucking dumb hooker and the violin disappeared really quick. My temper goes from 0-100 faster than a Bugatti. Usually I'm happy and easy going but if you step on my toes I will let you know. With whatever chosen words that come to mind in the moment, I'm not shy to utilize a colorful vocabulary. That dumb hooker with the shopping cart should be really happy that all she got was an earful about being a fucking dumb hooker, I could had been Erich Nowsch (that used to live walking distance from me here in Vegas) and things could had gotten way more heated. Now, to all you lazy asses that just leave your shopping carts that YOU used all over the parking lot. WHAT THE FUCK, is is that hard to waddle over to the designated shopping cart area? Unless you are injured, handicapped or very old you have no excuse.
So today I managed to exchange pleasantries with two annoying bitches. Fun times!
After Trader Joe's I went running, then I got home, ate and read, continued doing laundry and took a bath.
I saw a small book this evening that I thought was perfect.

My meal this evening. And since it's Thursday it means that the new Las Vegas Weekly came out. I read all the free Vegas magazines. They are great.

And how was YOUR day, any pleasant exchanges with strangers as well? I'm in bed now, feeling super comfy and listening to KNPR. Sleep in a bit......

More Of Bend

So after a week in Portland I packed up and continued my journey. I made a stop in Bend, tried a club there too that I liked and where butt plugs were a no no (I asked). I wrote about Bend last month but here is some more of Bend. I loved it there too, I pretty much like it anywhere unless it's absolutely HORRIBLE but come on, I survived sleeping in bug infested trailers in tiny places in South Dakota with no decent coffee for miles. It's about your attitude too. I learned by observing others on my trip through Oregon that being negative in general gets you NOWHERE. Of course I knew that already but sometimes situations and people really put stuff in perspective for you. All I can say is.....I'm glad I'm not like that. Certainly I have bad days once in a while and complain about things but I don't just hate everything and everybody for no reason whatsoever. I don't know how people go through life living like that, good luck with that I guess......anyhow. So Bend.....I guess this place gets many sunshine days and it was mostly sunny when I visited. Sunny and very pretty.

My new favorite coffee shop - Backporch! The latte there was FANTASTIC and they also had something called "Ocean Roll"......oh wow, SO GOOD! I was so impressed with that place. If I lived in Bend I would go there every day.

Tried many coffee shops.

The food in Oregon in general was really good. I ate all my food with great enthusiasm. Clean plates every time.

Found a gorgeous park.

And I found stuff to wear at Burning Man! Did some shopping.

I love Oregon! ❤ It's an amazing place.

Diesel

This is Diesel, she got blown up yesterday in Paris. She was 7. You can see the kindness and intelligence in her eyes. People who say that animals don't have souls must be soulless themselves. I totally believe animals have souls, it's obvious.

(Photo from Twitter).

Diesel got blown up by a woman strapped in explosives. I found a picture of her throwing up some hand signs looking like a dumb ass. But her face does not deserve to be on my blog, cause all she was in the end was a piece of shit coward. What did she accomplish by blowing herself and an innocent beautiful dog to pieces? FUCK HER.
I'm sitting here and can't believe what people do to each other and animals. It's just disgusting.
Chhaya got a new binki today so she is happy, we found a new great park to walk in close to the house.
