The first day of the new year is here. Hello January 1st 2022!
Just like Christmas and my birthday, my New Year's Eve was uneventful. I did entertain the thought of driving to Seattle just for the night to watch the fireworks show from the Space Needle but changed my mind. It seemed too complicated in the end. Like where would I watch it from? I am not familiar with Seattle. So I stayed at home.
All night. Had somebody told me when I was 17 that one day I would stay home all night on New Year's Eve and be OK with that I would had been like.....nooooooo way, I will never stay home on New Year's Eve! But here I am, staying at home like a real fogbone. (Fogbone = boring, kind of lame oldie....basically me).
I did make a very yummy drink that I will drink again. Pink champagne with raspberry sorbet and fresh raspberries. Not only is this drink Tati approved for being pretty, it is also good! You can't see it in the pic but there is a dollop of raspberry sorbet in the glass and a total of six raspberries floating around. YOU NEED this drink!
My 2021 was kind of stressful and at times difficult (even very difficult) but also good and happy of course. I am hoping for less stress, less personal turmoil and some clarity. Basically I am hoping for a less complicated year ahead. I need peace and calm. I really do. One of my friends told me that I need to become more selfish, that I care too much about others and need to put myself first and center. And I know this.
I have been taking baths for a few nights in a row now and scrubbing myself really well and thoroughly moisturizing. Tonight as well. I spent the first day of the year arguing with a family member (not a great start at all), then I had separate conversations with two friends, good long talks......I stayed in bed until late afternoon, had coffee in bed, ventured out in the evening for a walk, ate good (as always). A cup of evening tea. Took a bath like I mentioned already. Had a face mask on, watched Netflix. I try to spend the 1st day of the year as calm and good as possible. Just doing things that I like. It was almost like that except for the argument, which was no good. Kind of sad.
Well friends.....I will leave you with that for now. Happy New Year.
