Last Day

It was with a feeling of sadness that I left the Burning Man playa an early Monday morning, my home for the last week. I told myself that I have to come back again next year and here I am writing this over a month later in my kitchen, feeling the same way. Burning Man.....to describe it in a few words is difficult and pretty much impossible, it has to be seen and experienced to be comprehended. A vast area that in the span of one fantastic week is filled with people, music, art, lights - LIFE. It is like stepping inside a giant utopian Salvador Dali painting. I amassed so many memorable experiences during my week there that I will be forever grateful for. How can a week fly by so fast?
I took some time out during my last day to take some pics of myself with the help of the 10 second timer on my camera. I wanted more pics with my favorite statue at Burning Man, Truth Is Beauty.

Until next time!

This was my last entry on Burning Man 2013, the Cargo Cult. For about a month now I have written several blogs trying to describe in words and pictures how it was. Maybe there will be another story about next years event when that time comes. I still have some more pics to show you from my shoot with Michael, those will come up soon.

Random

My Burning Man story is nearing it's end. It's been a over a month now since I left the playa. Did you know that there is an online clock that counts down the months, days, hours, minutes and seconds to the next Burning Man? I check it sometimes......I am counting down the time as well. I have some more random pics to show you.
Some people brought their little ones to Burning Man. I think that is OK, hopefully the kids that do experience the event will get something good out of it. I don't know about bringing babies though. I saw a couple in particular with a one year old on a few occasions.....they were not the best parents I can say from observing them and the baby a few times. If you need to party that bad then leave the baby at home in the care of somebody better suited to watch it than you are.

The Thunderdome. I loved this place. Basically an area where people strapped into bungees could beat each other up with large soft ish bats. It was great. No, I did not participate. I saw some people leaving that place with bloody noses. I am too vain and do not need any reconstructive face surgeries.

My stuff.

The cute baby giraffe stuffed animal in the Osiris dance tent. I love stuff like this. And yes, people danced with it. :-D

Bathroom sign.

Random people.

I have a lot of similar statues. One day when I figure out (if I ever do) where I am settling down, I am going to have the most amazing home full of stuff like this.

Some parting words.

Autumn

Fall is here.....although I prefer the word autumn....it sounds so pretty. The leaves are falling and the air is getting colder. The snow should be here in a month or so. I will miss the grass and the leaves. Snow is nice but after about six, seven months of it I am so ready for green grass and leaves in the trees. Here are some pics of autumn with Chhaya posing like the super model she is.

Are You Proud To Be An American?

I hear a lot of people around here blurt out that they are proud to be Americans. That is all ok with me. I consider myself more of a global citizen. What surprises me is how many of the proud Americans treat their country, that they also say is the greatest on earth, like it is their personal trash can. To be proud of something also means caring for it. Right? All the trash around here is astonishing. Being a proud American is more than singing along to a country song or watching some football while drinking Budweiser and complaining about Obama. Don't trash the land that you claim you are so proud of. I can't stand people that litter. If you are an adult living in a modern country (like the US) which facilitates with various forms of garbage collections then you have no valid excuse. Shame on lazy trashy people like that. I tell people all the time not to litter when they are in my company (if they do). If you think that it makes me a bitch.....oh well, I couldn't care less and don't bother with my company and guess what, I don't like you either because you are a selfish lazy idiot that trashes the planet I live on and share with others. And trashing includes throwing cigarette butts, yes I know many do not think so.....well really they do know better but they don't care. Gross!

So yesterday I did some self appointed community service. No monetary pay involved.
The payment comes in the satisfaction of knowing that I did something good. This is what I found and gathered. It didn't take long at all and it was easy. I still have a couple of more places to de litter.

What if an animal would get tangled up in any of that or get cut on a broken glass bottle?
So yeah, if I.....a super self involved good for nothing stripper (ha ha feel the irony) can do something good then everybody in the US can. At least take your trash to the nearest trash can. Do you think you can do that? I am not going to pontificate much longer, so calm down.
I do not claim to be a saint and have never claimed to be such a thing, ever (in case you wonder or erroneously say that about me.) I have made mistakes and broken the law, more than once. Each of us lives life to their own set of morals. But when I do something bad, it involves me only, others do not have to suffer for it. And if you want even more evidence of what random trash does to this still beautiful planet, watch THIS
Even if you don't litter, watch it and think. Maybe it will make you feel, open your eyes and realize that being selfish and lazy is not the right way to be.

In The Mood

I'm in bed watching late night tv and reading blogs. Living the life you know! ;-) Earlier it was Jimmy Fallon, I just love him, he is cute and funny. Last night he talked about the worst songs ever, OMG it was HILARIOUS, I laughed loud and long all by myself like a lunatic, Chhaya woke up from her slumber and got excited, she thought something fun was going on.....but no.....just me laughing at/with Jimmy. He played some song called Do You Have A Garterbelt by Tony Joe White, have you heard of him? He was hot in the 80's maybe. But I need to play that song at work! That is going to be sooooo funny, I love cracking jokes at work. Right now I am watching Katie Lee and Hoda, I don't have cable in case you wonder and I know I have said it before but I love Hoda, I want her to be MY friend, she seems so genuinely nice and she is funny too. Hoda be my friend please!
So tonight after my 29 minute run......I was in the mood for pancakes. Yum.

I have all kinds of animals in my yard. Moose, caribou, rabbits, squirrels, coyotes, lynx, bigfoot......you name it. I talk to the animals and tell them that they can hang out all they want and feel safe, eat the grass and drink water from the wheel barrow, nobody will harm them (unless Chhaya goes psycho). I feed the birds and the squirrels. I love my animal friends.
A mama moose and her baby have been sleeping next to the deck for a few nights now, yesterday I had four moose here hanging out and eating the grass. Cute!

Goodnight from me!

Me

Here's a collection of random pics of me at Burning Man. I am extremely self obsessed and cannot have enough pics of myself, lucky you that can admire them as well!
Last night the ice cream won over the running, it was a bit too dark out for my liking to run so so I ate ice cream, read and enjoyed my bed. In a bit I am taking Chhaya for another walk and then I am going running. Spending the evening at home. I love my house. Can't wait to decorate it in December.

Sacred goddess.

I went rollerblading at night to disco music and it was sooooo much fun!

Loooooving my life!

My Deery Lou necklace. KAWAII huh?

Dusty feet.
