Sluggish

Woke up feeling soooo sluggish today, then I realized it was probably because I had a glass of champagne last night......either that or the ever so present gray winter weather. After a walk with Chhaya in the snow and a run to Coffee Roasters to get a latte I slowly felt better and now I feel like myself again. Lots of energy but nothing to do. Boring!
Last night was fun, I love spending time with my friends. But there has been very little of that in Alaska. Most my friends live other places, they are the ones I spend time with the way I like to spend time with friends. Meet up frequently and DO things, doesn't have to be anything special. Just spend time together. That is what I miss the most, quality time with friends. Not enough of that here.
A pic from last night before Lexi and Sharon came over. Yes, I love pink and Hello Kitty.

I made mashed potatoes from scratch. Brown gravy from two bags, I am not sure how to make homemade gravy, I tried twice and it didn't turn out good. Then I also served chicken with walnuts. You cook the chicken with the walnuts folded inside of each piece of chicken, plus I also heated up the reminder of the walnuts from the bag separately and served that as well. And some chopped up cucumber, orange bell pepper and radishes. Strawberries, blueberries and whipped cream for dessert. Lexi didn't know that you can make whipped cream at home. I always do, I don't like the ready made stuff you can get at the store, like Reddi-wip or whipped topping, it is gross. I also like the whipped cream they make at Starbucks. It is SOOOOOO good. And real, not some crap from a can.

Well, my exciting plans for the rest of the day? Eat. Laundry. Take Chhaya out again. Work on my taxes. Finish reading the book. Not necessarily in that order. Better get started.......

Full and Tired

It's later here Tuesday night, I am full and tired. I had a busy day today. I had Lexi and Sharon over for dinner and that was very nice. So I prepared and cooked the food this afternoon. Sharon asked me if I always eat this much, meaning how much food I put on my plate and yes I do, I have a huge appetite. And now I am laying in bed with a pregnant looking stomach and Chhaya is in bed with me.
I recently read a discussion about people's opinions of letting dogs sleep in bed with you. To me it is absolutely normal that Chhaya sleeps in bed with me, she can sleep wherever she wants, get on the couch etc. She has two of her own beds, one downstairs and one upstairs and she sometimes spends the night in one of her beds. Actually one of the beds is so comfortable that I even fell asleep in it once, I had laid down in it to cuddle with Chhaya and next thing I know I woke up from a slumber. Some think it is dirty and gross to let a dog in the bed with you. I don't think it is as long as you keep the bed, the dog and your house reasonably clean. Chhaya is clean and she smells so good and she loves to cuddle. I love sleeping with her next to me.

I once had a dog trainer come to my house, I was looking into getting some lessons for Chhaya and myself. And she told me that in order to train Chhaya right I had to stop letting her sleep in the bed. I looked at her like she was crazy. And she also had the nerve to blurt out something in the style of, "Oh is she your security blanket or something?" Ummmmmm.........NO and I did not sign up for any of her training sessions after that. Security blanket? Whatever. Some people believe in not letting the dog on the furniture, I believe that Chhaya is a family member and she can basically do whatever she wants. And she is very mindful, aware and polite. To me it is way more gross to have a filthy and crusty bathroom or a dirty fridge or an unclean flatware tray or drawer full of old food scraps, crumbs, hair and dust - yuck.
I need certain things in my house to be clean and the kitchen where you keep and cook the food and the bathroom where you tend to your hygiene are to me areas that I have to keep very clean. I'd rather have Chhaya is bed with me with whatever "dog germs" she might have than have a grimy flatware tray.

Anyways, I am totally engrossed in my new book The Stonecutter by Camilla Läckberg. I can't stop reading it, I had to force myself to put it down so I could write this entry. Now I need to read her other novels. It's getting late, my eyes are tired but I must read a bit more! And chew on my cuticles.

What Makes You Happy?

Today's view from my window, nice and sunny.

I did errands earlier with my sidekick Chhaya. Look at my baby, she is the cutest!

I am having a dinner for some friends at my place tomorrow so I had to get some stuff to prepare for that. Got a latte at Kaladi, it was delicious as always.

Found some new books, excited over that. Especially this novel by Camilla Läckberg, a Swedish author I heard lots about but I haven't read anything by yet. She writes crime novels that are supposedly really good.

There is lots of really good Swedish crime fiction out there. Like the Millennium series by Stieg Larsson about my heroine Lisbeth Salander. I am going to have to reread those books. Then I came home, ate and relaxed. What makes YOU happy? I'm easy - Chhaya, latte, books, food, good friends and I am a very happy girl! I think I might work tonight, I have a lot of energy and don't feel like sitting at home.......

Work Story - The Married Couple

Last night a married couple came in. They supposedly had five kids at home, watched over by a baby sitter. The woman looked really good for having produced five kids, she kind of reminded me of Renée Zellweger in the face and the hair style, not as bony as Renée though. Let me tell you, if I even had one kid I would be a whale. I would be larger than a pregnant Jessica Simpson, I would probably live on ice cream, whipped cream and mashed potatoes. Oh and lattes too, of course!
Anyhow, the couple came in and started playing pool. Meanwhile a very annoying guy from Venezuela kept pestering me with irritating questions like, "WHAT are YOU doing HERE?" Meaning, you should be somewhere else......because you are too pretty to be here and bla bla bla.........I get so irritated with questions like that. I don't ask people what they are doing in the club and why they are in there when they come in.
Mind your own business and I am old enough to know what I am doing and where I am supposed to be, thank you! So after ignoring him for a while, I was watching a documentary about Tupac that was so much more interesting than the guy from Venezuela, he finally gave up and walked over to the married couple playing pool.
Well, things turned out well for him because they REALLY liked him and one thing led to another. The woman borrowed Autumn's heels (Autumn is a girl I work with) and started walking back and forth while her husband and their new Venezuelan friend cheered on. She fell twice, lucky she didn't twist her ankle, she decided that the heels we wear at work are outrageous. Then she got a lap dance from Autumn and she had on some very small panties that barely covered her lady bits. How do I know? I was busy doing dances myself so I saw what was under her dress since she was across from me with Autumn. After that she took turns making out with her husband and the new guy. While all the other guys in the club watched and gossiped like a bunch of school girls. They too knew that it was a married couple getting freaky. I thought it was kind of cute. Better to be open and have a fun relationship than to cheat on each other and be secretive.
Well, the making out got kind of intense and Diann, the boss lady told them to get a cab. So a cab came and picked up the happy threesome. The married couple and the Latin lover drove off into the cold Alaskan night onto some new amorous adventures. You never know how your evening at the strip club might turn out. You arrive alone and might leave together with new friends.........

Checking In

Hi everybody on this Saturday in February, it's just your fave girl Tatiana checking in.
I am enjoying a latte at Coffee Roasters, then I am heading to the gym for a short cardio session, I want to sweat at least a little today. After that I am picking up some Mexican food, going home to eat it, might take Chhaya out again for a short evening walk and after that I will be getting ready and going to work. My day will be over around 5 am tomorrow, that's in 14 hours!
I got like three proposals last night, it happens all the time. LOL. OF COURSE I know the difference between blurting something out and reality. If I didn't I would had been married thousands of times already. Well, if I had accepted all of the proposals that is. My answer when somebody asks me if I want to get married or go on a date, as of lately? "I am waiting for Rihanna." Yep, I would totally marry her and be happy.
Besides that, Chhaya jumped on my other laptop last night, on the keyboard so now the screen is blank with a few colorful lines going across it, I need to figure out how to fix it fast because I use that laptop to upload most of the pics onto the blog. It works faster on my Sony Vaio when I am at home, my MAC doesn't upload the pics as fast for some reason. I hate technical problems because I am not a tech savvy person at all.
One more pic of my heart necklace from last night since it was Valentine's Day last Thursday and I kind of celebrate if for a few days afterwards anyways. ❤

In Bed

Tatiana is in bed, finally after a night at work. It's 5 37 am and Tatiana is going to read for about 15 minutes then sleep. Tatiana had on a new necklace, a heart because it was Valentine's day the other day. Tatiana forgot her camera at home so she had to take pics with her cellphone and those pics never come out good. The money is organized in piles, the tip outs and whatever Tatiana is taking home. Anyways, Tatiana is in bed now, drinking hot tea to warm up and eating chocolate. She is tired. Yawn and goodnight.
