Where I like to eat

If you have been reading my blog for a while (which you should, like every day!) then you should know that I love food. I am a huge foodie. There are not that many good places to eat at in Kenai and Soldotna I think. I have been to all the "better" restaurants and they are not that great, quite disappointing actually. Especially if you have dined in Las Vegas or New York or other larger cities and can compare. Homer, a city about 70 miles from here has a few good places. So does Girdwood, I love Maxines. And of course there are great places to eat in Anchorage.
I do not cook much, I am too impatient and lazy, therefore I eat out a lot or bring the food home.

I like Odie's in Soldotna for sandwiches and soups.

Maria's in Kenai for Mexican. It's a small drive up place and I always get the huevos rancheros, not on the menu, you have to ask for it, they make it spicy - which I like.

I also like Veronica's in Kenai. It's a cute place and they have good salads, sandwiches, soups and desserts.

I get a latte from somewhere everyday. Sometimes at Coffee Roasters in Kenai. They have good scones and muffins too but sometimes those are stale.

I like St. Elias Brewing Company in Soldotna for the pizza and the ambiance. I heard that Katinas in Kenai has good pizza too but I have not tried it out, yet. I love pizza, who doesn't? I also still have to go to Charlotte's in Kenai - I am curious about that place and heard that the food is good.
For the people that like hamburger, really don't go to McDonald's (yuck), try the Burger Bus in Kenai.
I don't eat burgers but that place supposedly makes them right.
A place that I don't like is Louie's in Kenai. Unless you like dining inside a taxidermy, they have so many dead animals hanging on the walls and furs draped in different spots, it's creepy. Sure, it's Alaska but I do not need to enjoy my meal while 50 dead animals are hovering all around me and staring at me with their glass eyes.
Harry's in Soldotna is bad too. I had breakfast there once, I though it was a joke. The worst crap ever. I almost didn't want to pay for it, it was that bad. Never again!
And speaking of breakfast, I haven't found a single place that offer a GOOD, hearty breakfast with some home style fried potatoes. It's all frozen hash browns, some dried up slices of bacon and eggs, yuck. And they think they should charge you for that crap too.

Soft

Sometimes people marvel over that my skin is so soft and smooth. I don't know if it is or not,
I thought all girls have soft skin but apparently they don't because I hear that too. So it is very simple to keep your skin soft, girls AND boys. Exfoliate and moisturize. I have been scrubbing myself with exfoliating body washes and gloves since I was like 13. My Mom used to think that I lived in the shower. I like this St. Ives body scrub because it's cheap and does not contain any parabens and it's not tested on animals.

Why people come to the Kenai Peninsula

In the summer time people come to the Kenai Peninsula to fish. I don't fish and I don't know much about fishing but I guess most of the people are hoping to catch a few king salmon.
And whatever other fish that swims in the river.
Here is a pic of the world famous Kenai river as it flows through Soldotna.

Another reason people come here is to catch a glimpse of the soon to be very famous Tatiana. Here is a pic of Tatiana with a large fish. YOU NEED!!?

She was "too Westernized"

How do you murder your own child? Well, believe it or not - many people do. Some people, an alarming amount to me, should NOT reproduce. They do not make good parents. Like the two first cousins from Pakistan that married and moved to England. They decided to suffocate their 17 year old daughter with a plastic bag while her little sister watched. Why? The 17 year old was "too Westernized" according to the parents (monsters) religious beliefs. That would be Islam in this case.
This is a huge ongoing problem in Western Europe, immigrants from Muslim countries come in and are chocked that men and women are equal!
I KNOW! Shocking! Women are allowed to vote, drive a car, tend to their daily lives without a male escort, they can file for a divorce. They can't get stoned to death when their appointed to them, much older husband gets tired of them and wants a new, younger version. Whaaaaat???
This is very difficult for some immigrants to accept and they do everything they can to keep their children separated from the "evils" of Western society.
I have seen this with my own eyes, growing up in Sweden. But this goes on in the US too.
Some families even opt to have their little girls circumcised even though it is totally barbaric and against the law in Westernized countries. Though I personally belive that boys shouldn't get circumcised either. Hygienic reasons? Nah, if you wash your crotch with soap and water on a regular basis you should be fine. The foreskin must be there for a reason.
Well, these loving Pakistani parents finally got sentenced to life in prison. Now they can sit there and rot away. How A MOTHER could allow somebody to hurt her own child, a daughter in this case, is unfathomable to me. But it happens all the time. Mommy's that don't do anything to protect their children when their boyfriend is beating or molesting them - because having a man, any lousy man in your life is more important than caring for your children.
I also think that imposing a religion on a child is wrong, whether it is Christianity, Islam, Catholicism, Mormonism - you name it.
People should think for themselves and make their own choices in life regarding beliefs like that. I had to go to church growing up and it was BORING and basically a complete waste of time, for the most part. But my Mom just followed tradition and didn't "know better" I guess. She just wanted what she thought was right and best for me. She didn't force me into any serious church going but I did have to go through Communion. The white dress and all, that my Mom sewed herself - it was really pretty. I still have that dress.
Well, today I am spiritual and don't really label myself as a Catholic or anything else. Just a human on this planet, a neo hippie of some sort. Trying to do something good one day I hope.
Where was Allah when that poor 17 year old girl got murdered by her parents?
I have brought these issues up before in my blog. I keep going back to injustices against women and people mistreating their children and animals because it makes me upset and I don't think people talk about it enough. At least I don't hear anything about it when I sit at work listening to people talk mumbo jumbo. Sometimes I try to start discussion, I try but you know........it doesn't really lead anywhere.
Well, I feel really bad for all the girls and women that are subjected to honor killings. I hope there will be an end to that kind of behavior soon.

Another night at work

Two nights in a row - I am feeling proud over myself! Tonight was better than last, yes - it's mostly just ones that you see........some twenties and a few fives.
But we had some fun people at the club tonight, acting silly. So I had fun.
And those are my two lockers, in one of them all my outfits - basically bra's and mostly Honey Dew panties stuffed in all the little bins. And then my little towels that I sit on. The other locker has all my bracelets and necklaces in a bin and some lotions and my fave Juicy perfume,
VIVA La Juicy. It's very yummy. I have a third locker for my shoes.

I took a bath when I got home and now I am feeling tired, my eyes are closing on me, so I am going to put away the laptop and sleep.

Yeeeeayyyy - MORE PICS!

Here is one more from the shoot I did in New York a few months ago. All together, I liked 38 pics from the shoot, I can't remember how many we took, a few hudred probably. The pic is totally unedited. I don't know how to photoshop, except to blend out a zit or a bruise but that's it. I don't know how to change eye color, hair color, make myself look thinner, boobs bigger, teeth whiter, lips more pink/red etc. Most pics in magazines are edited. So don't think that the ladies in Playboy, Maxim and all those other magazines and sites you like to examine visually really look that way in real life. I am not saying that they're not pretty, of course they are, well - many of them at least. But some look that way only because of some spackled on make up, good lights and photoshop. I know girls on certain modeling sites that do not look anything like their online portfolio in real life, becaue their pictures are so heavily edited. And sometimes a pictures doesn't capture a persons beauty at all, since you can't see movement.
The photographer is Mark Wiggin. I have a few more from that shoot that I want to put up but those I am going to see if he is willing to edit a little, I have some shiny skin in them that I want to get rid of. Doesn't look too cute.
