I do not cook much, I am too impatient and lazy, therefore I eat out a lot or bring the food home.
I like Odie's in Soldotna for sandwiches and soups.
Maria's in Kenai for Mexican. It's a small drive up place and I always get the huevos rancheros, not on the menu, you have to ask for it, they make it spicy - which I like.
I also like Veronica's in Kenai. It's a cute place and they have good salads, sandwiches, soups and desserts.
I get a latte from somewhere everyday. Sometimes at Coffee Roasters in Kenai. They have good scones and muffins too but sometimes those are stale.
I like St. Elias Brewing Company in Soldotna for the pizza and the ambiance. I heard that Katinas in Kenai has good pizza too but I have not tried it out, yet. I love pizza, who doesn't? I also still have to go to Charlotte's in Kenai - I am curious about that place and heard that the food is good.
For the people that like hamburger, really don't go to McDonald's (yuck), try the Burger Bus in Kenai.
I don't eat burgers but that place supposedly makes them right.
A place that I don't like is Louie's in Kenai. Unless you like dining inside a taxidermy, they have so many dead animals hanging on the walls and furs draped in different spots, it's creepy. Sure, it's Alaska but I do not need to enjoy my meal while 50 dead animals are hovering all around me and staring at me with their glass eyes.
Harry's in Soldotna is bad too. I had breakfast there once, I though it was a joke. The worst crap ever. I almost didn't want to pay for it, it was that bad. Never again!
And speaking of breakfast, I haven't found a single place that offer a GOOD, hearty breakfast with some home style fried potatoes. It's all frozen hash browns, some dried up slices of bacon and eggs, yuck. And they think they should charge you for that crap too.
