Reading Material

Got a new book to read, it's called The Bond (Our Kinship with Animals, Our Call to Defend Them) by Wayne Pacelle. It's a book that brings up the many ways animals contribute to our happiness and well-being. It also takes on animal cruelty.
And you all know that I love animals and I am a friend of animals - big or small. Even ants. I'd much rather take a spider or a fly out than smush them.
Also Playboy. I love Playboy. What I found interesting in this issue was a small article about a Polish woman that started out as a model but is now a photographer, Marlena Bielinska. Some of her photos of very pretty Polish girls are in the mag......oh those Polish girls....there is something about them....isn't it?
;-)
She is quoted "Sexual women like to see themselves naked". Hmmmmmm.......I can understand and relate to that. Kind of. I like pics of myself in various stages of undress.
There is also a fascinating and scary article about the business of faking your own death to cash in on life- insurance money.

Also check out my new pair of swirly pink glass tumblers from Kosta Boda, Rose-Marie gave them to me. I ❤ them!

No way!

Tatiana is horrified to learn that the sk Seashore shoes are trendy.....again. They are so ugly! And kind of expensive, these are $ 75. Tatiana remembers when they were popular in Sweden when Tati was a teen, we call them "Seglarskor" over there, even back then Tatiana thought they were awful.

Cotton Clouds

Flew home and arrived in Alaska early this morning, like 1 AM. It feels like I was never gone, my trip feels like a dream, surreal almost. Probably because it was so short.....

If you scroll down you can read about my last few days in NY, I had to wait until today to update because I was so busy in NY that I didn't have time to do it......

Times Square and Au Revoir

Last day in New York. We were both sad. I HATE saying goodbye to my friends, it's an awful feeling and I usually cry. Had one last lunch, for this time, at Pret, I will miss their delicious almond croissants. Sat in Times Square for a while and soaked it all in. I am sad to leave. Life is full of good bye's, I hate that. And time goes by so fast, too fast, these days have flown by. I've had a great time, made many memories that I will cherish forever.........TACK ROSSE! ❤

The Walk

I am not sure how far we walked today but it was FAAAAAR. We started out at Union Square and walked down to Battery Park. We passed the new One World Trade Center that today officially became the tallest building in NY, very cool. Later we took the Staten Island ferry, which is free btw and takes you close enough to the Statue Of Liberty so you can get a good look at her. After the ferry round trip we walked Greenwich St up to High Line Park, I recommend that you visit that place.
It is an elevated narrow park that stretches for several blocks above the streets in NY - interesting. Then we made it back to Union Square. After that we had some really good pizza and my friend happily watched the hockey game that was live, she is a huge hockey fan. Then we strolled over, in the late evening, to Grand Central, that also is a beautiful place and took the subway home.
A few more weeks of walking like this and I will be in top shape. Too bad I have to leave tomorrow...... 😥
