Pics

I decided to stay home this Saturday night. My laziness took over but I have also been feeling cold all day, tired and I'm not in the mood to breathe in cigarettes tonight. So instead I started going through some of my pics. I have thousands. To pick out only a few is a project. I have done many shoots with Barry Gallegos, I like many of the pics we got. Do a search for his name in my blog's searchbar to see some of them. One of my fave pics that Barry took is this one. I think it is bad ass and that I look like a super hero.

I think that Barry liked it too because he put it on the cover on a photo book that he did. See it here More pics.....

Photographer Barry Gallegos What I am hoping to do in the future is some faerie or mermaid style pics. More outside pics with waterfalls, lakes, the ocean, large trees, dramatic scenery like a flat landscape and a big sky, sunsets........stuff like that. But now I am going to drink tea, have some cheese and crackers and watch SNL.

Packed Pound

This sad picture of this beautiful pitbull puppy is on the cover of the latest issue of the * Redoubt Reporter *. Of course that made me very upset, I wanted to go and get him right away, name him Rascal and just LOVE him. But I am not sure if Chhaya would accept another dog in the household, that is the problem. Otherwise I would love to get another puppy, preferably a rescue pitbull.
I guess the pound is packed here and you know what happens then right? That dog or cat that got abandoned by an irresponsible pet owner gets euthanized, a nicer word for * killed *. When are people going to understand that being a pet owner is a responsibility? Do not get a pet unless you are willing to take care of it the RIGHT way. Getting rid of a family pet because of a move or because you meet a new boyfriend or girlfriend that might not like dogs/cats or you get bored with your pet is NOT ok!. I can understand that sometimes certain circumstances come up and for some reason you have to "get rid of" (awful words) your pet. But don't just ABANDON it or leave it at the pound! HELLO! At least find a good home for your pet!
And don't get me started on spaying and neutering. I have already written several entries about that. People that view their dogs as some kind of supplemental income are HORRIBLE I think. For some reason that seems to apply to the idiots out there breeding their pitbulls like it is the thing to do. And then just sell them off to people that mistreat them or abandon them. I can say with conviction that I HATE certain people. The people that do this.
Chhaya has papers, she comes from a "nice" bloodline I guess. I have been asked many times to breed her, no way! By doing so I would only contribute to a problem that is out of control - unwanted pets. IT IS SO SAD! And do not get a pitbull because you think it is cool or you want to look like a thug or something, parading your dog around with a thick choke chain. BARF!
So of course I had to cut out the article about the pets at the pound here in Kenai and made a little flyer of it and put it up at work. It is the second flyer I made. I also have a little collection going. I must admit that I have not been that good at collecting money, I need to step it up!
A lot of the money in there is my own that I put in after a shift at work. That is where I keep my collection box. I am thinking to give all the proceeds to the * Peninsula Spay and Neuter Fund * here in town or half to the * Angel Fund * at the Twin Cities veterinary clinic. They help sick or injured pets. I have to collect more money first!

You can make a donation to the two funds I mentioned. You can contact Twin Cities Veterinary Clinic at (907) 262-4581 and call or email peninsulaspayandneuterfund@gmail.com for info, (907) 6902723.

Two of my entries that relate to this entry.

Mirror

Getting myself ready for work in front of the mirror. I also sit in the bathroom sink sometimes in front of the mirror that hangs over the sink. The getting ready process once I am out of the shower is fairly quick. Some eyeshadow and the lashes. I put on the lipstick, the lip gloss and the mascara at work. Last night was so bad I didn't even change out of my regular clothes. What are the chances of that happening again tonight?

Cold

I woke up to cold weather today, in bed right now watching the snowflakes fall down outside my window. It is a balmy 16 °F. Lovely!
Work last night was really bad, I didn't even change into my outfit. Instead I sat down on the couch with my computer for a few hours before I went home. Well, I guess it is time to get out of bed and do something useful?
Here is Chhaya and her new friend MooMoo.

My Own Additions

So I think the blog super00nova wrote about customer etiquette is pretty spot on.
I agree with all of it to various degrees. And I want to contribute my own additions (of course).

DO NOT sit at the stage and talk shit about the girls. It is rude and disrespectful. Imagine if YOU were performing naked or almost naked in front of people and they would criticize you. Also most likely we don't think that you are that hot either.
DO NOT underestimate me because I am a dancer. That doesn't mean that I am dumb.
DO NOT assume we are prostitutes because we get topless or naked on a stage. Most of us would not go there. OKAY?
DO NOT steal my bra, panties or outfit. Go buy your own.
DO NOT steal my purse. Or I will take you down with a round kick. BAM!
DO NOT tell me what to do. I am the boss.
DO NOT demand anything from me, for example my number and then get pissed off if I don't comply.
DO NOT pull my hair. No, I don't like that.
DO NOT insist that I drink alcohol. That is creepy.
DO NOT come in smelling bad. We don't like that and you might end up sitting all by yourself.

Basically it is about respect. I respect you and you respect me. I am not going to hustle/con or steal from you. So if we respect each other then we can more or less be on the same page. Of course you can't like or agree with everybody and that is totally ok.
And then of course - there are always exceptions to the rules........! I do not mind sitting and talking to nice, intelligent and funny people at work for FREE. I am not always in the mood for long talks, or sometimes I am busy making money. BUT I also enjoy talking to people, no money involved. Also I don't charge for conversation, that would feel weird to me. I know girls that have met their husbands and boyfriends in the club. So it is possible. I have personally made good friends with people I met at work.

Customer Etiquette

I have been so busy today with talking on the phone, Coffee Roasters, the gym and just doing stuff that I am now finally sitting down at the kitchen table. I am going to eat some food (I'm staaaaarving), rest a bit and then get ready for work.
What I wanted to share with you today is a blog another dancer wrote, funny thing is that she goes by super00nova. What a coincidence! She is a dancer with a blog and calls herself super00nova. I think her blog is good although she doesn't update it often, she writes well, keeps your interest and she is funny. Her blog is called Tales From Beyond the Stage . She has an entry about customer etiquette and I think it is sooooooo on point and hilarious that I MUST copy it and put it on my blog. But is was not written by me, I do not take credit for it whatsoever. I did e mail her and asked for permission to copy this but I haven't heard anything back. Anyways, here it is. ;-)

"So, since I have posted about Stripper Etiquette not too long ago, I thought I may share the proper behavior of customers, since we as dancers tend to get a lot of weirdos, out-of-towners, and club virgins. It is always interesting to see someone come in that is so obviously not used to such an environment – you can always spot them from across the club.
I would also like to say that this is both for the customer’s enjoyment and ours as dancers. So let’s get started!"

1. If you do not plan on buying a dance, tipping, or going to VIP, please sit at the bar if you simply MUST occupy the club. (Though, to be honest and very, very clear, we don’t want you there. At least have the decency to forewarn every girl that approaches you that you aren’t interested in her services, but you may buy her a drink (if you even have a soul..))

2. Along the same lines, if you don’t buy dances but still want our company – let us know early in the conversation. Say something nice that still gets your point across like, “I really like talking to you, and I will take care of you on stage, but dances really aren’t my thing.”

3. Please do not let us dance in front of you on stage for a whole song if you only intend on giving us two dollars.

4. If you do not like the girl that has come to your table or would prefer another one, tell her you are waiting on another girl to finish with her customer – don’t be rude.

5. Please do not touch us unless invited to do so, and even then, please be respectful.

6. We don’t think it’s very cute when you rub dollars up our legs or put them in your mouth to give them to us. Keep that in mind.

7. If you’re coming in to find a girlfriend, none of us are interested.

8. You do not need to “hide” the fact that you’re married, nor do you need to make yourself appear to be more interesting than you really are.

9. If you ask “What goes on” in VIP, the truth would most likely disappoint you.

10. Unless it is enough to put a down payment on a luxury vehicle, please don’t expect us to be genuinely surprised by the amount of money you spend. (Not to be confused with unappreciative, I appreciate everything, but few things surprise me as far as how much money someone will blow through in an evening of good company.)

11. Don’t ever use the words “Work for it” when speaking to us or a club employee.

12. Feel free to use the club’s shuttle service if one is provided, it is there to keep you safe after a long night of drinking!

13. Tip your waitress or the bartender well, you will always get better service if you show appreciation!

14. If you just sit down and have a normal conversation with a girl, you will almost always have a better time than if you try to show off or pick someone up. Just relax!
