Welcome to Chaos !!

Woke up today hoping to be able to take my Christmas pics with Chhaya but no.....today it was even colder than yesterday. So I'm shooting for tomorrow. Went into town, saw the steam come off the river, that means that the temperature in the water is warmer than the air. The river looks like a giant hot spring. I love hot springs.....in case you didn't know.



Took care of some stuff. Now I'm home, with a belly full of food and ready for a nap.



While browsing online last night I found these boots, they are Uggs. Not what you imagine when you think of Uggs perhaps. The more traditional Ugg wouldn't be good for Alaska I think. Well, now yes but not when it gets soggy out. These on the other hand.....I think they are kind of cool looking, I like the elevated sole. I like being taller than I am with the help of heels. Since I'm 5'9" my 7" heels I wear at work make me really tall. I always hear (from guys), "Why do wear those heels, you don't need them, you are already tall." That is YOUR problem, not mine. I wear whatever I want......ok.

Yesterday when I went to Kaladi for my latte I also left the Christmas presents to the two girls I am Santa for this year. A five year old and a 16 year old- I think they will be very happy with their gifts. Fun, cute and creative.....perfect. It's an annual Christmas gift collection through Hope Community Resources here in town, an organization that works with children and adults with some form of disability. To make it fair (otherwise I will feel guilty in my heart) I still need to get one or two toys for a boy and leave it with Toys For Tots.

Every Christmas I take on a way too big load upon myself and each year I think to myself that I need to scale back the next year but I don't. I would feel guilty if I did, I probably need to see a therapist to get to the bottom of this guilt issue......lol. I like to remember people and make them feel special, it's nice. I spent a few hours yesterday and today with writing Christmas cards and decorating each card with stickers, putting stuff in boxes, writing addresses.....basically wrapping everything up.
Today I was hoping to get my annual Christmas card with Chhaya taken. I had everything ready and then I stepped outside and decided that I couldn't do it, it was way too cold to stand outside and pose for pictures while trying to keep my teeth from shattering, ignoring that my fingers are frozen numb while attempting to look cute. Maybe tomorrow. All the Christmas gifts and cards will be sent out a little later than I had planned.....but better late than never. Here are some of the gifts and Chhaya wondering if there's something fun for her in there to open.



So instead me and Chhaya bundled up and drove into town for some latte and grocery shopping. She looking stylish in her new red coat.

Tonight....well technically last night, we had a Christmas party at work. A very merry Christmas party, the drinks and shots were flowing abundantly and free, there was lots of food and gifts. I brought a bunch of gifts but half of them are in my locker since some people didn't show up. Oh well, they will get their gifts another time.



We even have a tree. Since I have been a very good girl all year I got exactly what I wished for......a large bucket of popcorn and a huge dildo.....oh and a check (inside the card). Now I can stay at home for another week without being bored, since I will be busy eating popcorn and getting acquainted with my new friend. I can't wait!





Actually.....that dildo belongs to the club (yea we are weird and kinky like that). I found it on top of our non working and dust collecting vending machine and put it under the clock at the bar a few weeks ago and named it "the cock under the clock" and I would threaten people with a good time while pointing that thing on them (used on them NOT on me, thank you very much) if they didn't tip me enough. Well, tonight a girl (that shall remain anonymous) took that dildo hostage, she "stole" it from me and I guess she will be having a very merry evening tonight.

I love stories about Santa and the connection to the fly agaric. Back in the day mushrooms were depicted on many Christmas cards. I think it's pretty and I also like mushroom ornaments for the Christmas tree. I am also fascinated with all things of the underworld......faeries, mermaids, trolls, gnomes.....the stuff faerie tales are made off.
In Sweden there are tons of folklore about trolls, princesses and faeries. And Santa comes from Lappland, where Sweden, Norway and Finland meet, where the reindeer roam. At least that makes the most sense to me, that Santa is from there.









It snowed a lot here today. It is so pretty outside and I miss Sweden when Christmas is around the corner. All the traditions.....julbord, glögg, a walk through Gamla Stan, Kalle Ankas julafton, Lucia, adventsljustake, julstjärna......I don't want to think too much about it and get sad. It's quiet and dark outside. Chhaya is in love with the electric blanket, she doesn't want to move from it. The house is decorated and looks beautiful. I'm content and pensive. Right now I wish I was under a thick but soft blanket in front of a hot wood fire stove somewhere, listening to somebody delivering hours of faerie tales while sipping on hot chocolate.

Got a new purse for work.....a Hello Kitty purse (of course). My old one that also was a Hello Kitty was starting to look worn on the top part and was too small for my cell phone that I would cram in it. I didn't want to retire my old purse, in my mind it was going to be my last work purse and I also get sentimentally attached to things and just didn't want to let it go. Now it's in one of my lockers at work, holding on to some keys and gum.
The new one has more room, a large Hello Kitty on it that glows in the black light. Very cute.
I also have some small trinkets attached to it, a mermaid, a flower, a butterfly and a Hello Kitty face. Is this going to be my last work purse?
