Retail Therapy

Although tired and in need of sleep I could not fall asleep this evening, I guess I'm too wired or something. So I headed out for some retail therapy, nothing like going to the malls here in Vegas, that always makes me feel better. I did not find much though.....but I did get a new eyeshadow from MAC. And an ice blended coffee from the Coffee Bean to sip on while shopping.

I was looking forward to see the new stuff at Victorias's Secret, especially hoping to find a new pretty bra but no, no bra screamed my name. I did get a white long shirt/tunic with fringes.
It looks a bit hippie.....perfect for Burning Man. I also saw a black full piece bathing suit that looked super sexy, reminded me of a Bond Girl bathing suit but they only had it in a Large, need to look for my size in another Victoria's Secret store.

I always sample Teavana, love it.

Besides the retail therapy and being tired I feel kind of sad. The first few days in Vegas, when I come back here are always bittersweet for me. Being here brings back so many memories, I've had so much fun in this town but it's over now. Sometimes I have a difficult time with things being over and done with and I tend to dwell on the past. When I drove past where Utopia used to be earlier I teared up, I will never again come out of Utopia into the bright Vegas sunshine after closing the club down. Thinking about that place feels weird.
I remember how excited I used to be driving along Las Vegas Blvd knowing I had a night of dancing and great music ahead of me.....no more! It feels like yesterday although it's been years. The reality that I will never go out with my friends here again like we used to several times a week feels sad......BOHOOOOO we used to have so much FUN.....! So I am feeling weird and sad tonight. Maybe I should start practicing yoga so I can feel better about certain things? Just a thought that struck me tonight.

City Lights

Yes, I needed some city lights. So I am in Vegas, got here this morning. Things are the same here, feels good to be back.....or home, or what is home for me nowadays? I'm not sure.
I have mixed emotions and I miss Chhaya. Plus I am tired from the traveling and the lack of sleep, so I am feeling a bit off right now. And I miss Chhaya!!!! But I said that already.

I ate at Whole Foods, of course. I always make a beeline for Whole Foods as soon as I get to Vegas, I love that place. The weather is great right now so I enjoyed my meal outside, wearing flip flops.

Later on I drove down to The Strip and went to the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood just to see some nice things, stuff that I like. And I got an ice blended coffee and the latest Las Vegas Weekly. So nice to be able to get a good coffee after 10 pm if that's what I want.

But I need to catch up on my sleep now. More from me tomorrow.....unless I get too busy with stuff in Vegas.

Ugly Dolls & Kenan

I can't remember when I discovered Ugly Dolls......? I think it was in 2006, or was it earlier? Anyhow, I have a small collection of them, some here in Kenai (they hang off my lingerie drawer in the closet, fiercely guarding my delicates) and some are in Vegas.
They accompanied me to many raves, I just snapped them to my chosen purse of the evening. My friend Julia has a bunch too and when we used to go to raves together back in the day, her Ugly Dolls made it to the party as well, an Ugly Doll outing.
The other night I was watching a show on Dateline about some guy that started some sort of a Buddhist "cult" in the Arizona desert. I like to watch stuff like that. What was really funny about that show though is that when the cult leader got interviewed he lounged on a couch with an Ugly Doll and a Starbucks cup that he was sipping coffee out of. I think he even talked to that Ugly Doll beside him once or twice. So now, mine and Julia's Ugly Dolls have started a cult, new members are currently being screened and we also accept monetary donations.
Just like that cult in the desert, the cult leader accepted donations too. Weird how some people are willing to give up everything, change their whole life and give away their saving to join a cult. But what do I know......maybe the life I live is some sort of a cult, society as I know it. Here are my Kenai Ugly Dolls, just hanging out and enjoying their Starbucks.

Julia's Pamelas (boobs) are working overtime receiving donations to the Ugly Doll Cult.

So my favorite person on SNL is Kenan Thompson, he really makes me laugh. He looks like he is very close to busting out laughing too when he does his sketches. My favorite is "What's Up With That?". I LOVE that one! Last night I was watching it and laughing like crazy. Now I do Kenan's "What's Up With That?" dance and sing just like him. That is going to me my new joke at work, when I see something weird or funny, which happens on a nightly basis when I do work, I am going to bust out singing and dancing, "What's Up With That?" OMG hilarious!
THANK YOU Kenan for making me laugh! :-D

New Teddy

Chhaya got a new teddy the other day and it was love at first sniff and bite. Ever since she was a baby she has had one or two teddies at home that she has been biting into, I call it nibbying. She opens her mouth really big, chomps down on it and then kind of just holds it in her mouth for a long time, 30 minute or longer stretches are not unusual, while kind of moving her mouth down on it ever so often. She sometimes makes sounds too while she is nibbying. I am not sure what this is about, I am thinking she is being a baby again when she does this, kind of like milking her Mom but then she might also be "killing" it because Chhaya is a predator is some ways. Anyhow, she loves her teddy time and her teddies. She does not accept all of them, there have been a few teddies that I brought home that got the cold shoulder. But she loves this one and it's her largest one so far.
Chhaya.....I love her so much, she fills my life with happiness. β™₯

Around Engineer Lake

Although windy and gloomy today I managed to trek all around Engineer Lake, I am guesstimating it's a little over three miles round trip. There is a rustic cabin you can rent on Engineer Lake too, it comes with a boat. I stayed in it last summer and got harassed by the mosquitoes. Chhaya is tired and happy after her walk today. I am full because I had a pizza, pastry and tea. And now I am laying here ready for sleep but it's not even 8 pm yet and STILL light out (YEAY!) and too early for bed. I think I am going to make myself some more tea and eat my second pastry, I am on the yummy diet right now. Then I have to do the dishes and a few loads of laundry. Better get busy before I get too tired to do anything.

On my mind - what is going on with the Malaysian Airlines flight? I don't get it, it's been too many days and so many people are not accounted for. How is this possible? I feel bad for the passengers and the people that are worried about them.

Ouch

Ugh.....I am cranky and hungry but I'm sipping on my latte as I am writing this and I am slowly feeling better. Last night at work I basically spent on the couch texting, most of us did. Something like this......

Another dead night. I guess Friday (when I decided to stay home, was really busy....typical it's always like that for me). You have to go into work every night here to catch that "busy" night and who has time for that? Not me. Finally some kids came in. Nice enough but soooo unpolished. I think 70% of the 21 and over people here smoke and I can't stand that. It was so smokey in the club last night that I had to search for air pockets when I was on stage. I was yelling that I was about to have an asthma attack, very dramatic. Then the guys also stuff their mouth with that chew stuff, some of them have big eggs under their lip and then they spit out the saliva in a cup. NOT SEKSI. The first time I saw anyone do that was at the Bush Company in Anchorage, I didn't know what they were doing, spitting in a cup? Not something the people that visit strip clubs in Vegas do. Like a friend said last night when I told her about the chew, "Eww no!! People still do that? WTF. Why can't they snort coke like regular customers." LOL, right!? I would be scared to even try coke here, I am sure it's cut with rat poison. The drug of choice here, besides tobacco and alcohol is meth. And that is a NO THANK YOU for me.
Then there was a really high on meth (or something else) guy wandering around in there that ended up filming one of the girls while she was on stage. He was a total weirdo and came up to me several times throughout the night with his eyes bulging out of his head, not making any sense at all and he tried to casually put his hand on my upper thigh, sneakily trying to touch. After the second time I told him that he would seriously be sorry if he attempted to do that again. Fucking freak! Get away from me and stay away.
A while ago Marlene caught a guy taking pictures of the girls and she took his phone and deleted every single pic he had in it except one, of some fish he caught. Just don't take pics or footage of the girls people. I would sue. This is America, you can sue for shit like that.
Soon people will come in with Google Glass attached to their head and try get footage of us like that. Just stay at home and pay for video chat ok? We are not interested in being in your phones pic gallery. The pics of me at work that are on my blog are taken by me (most of the time) and are up here because I chose to share them on here, plus the pics belong to me.
Just like any other pic of me in my blog, even the ones taken by other photographers, copyright.
Then when I got home the temperature in the house was a cold 54 degrees for some reason and one of the fire alarms was beeping a high annoying beep every minute because the battery was juiced out. Of course I did not have a replacement battery so that thing was beeping all night. I slept downstairs with the door closed but I could still hear that beep.
AND when I climbed up on a storage bin that I pulled out from my closet (I don't have chairs upstairs) to see if I could get that thing to be quiet I slipped and fell and hurt my elbow really bad. OUCH! Now my elbow is slowly turning blue and it's swollen. Really? Good I didn't break my hip Grandma style, now that would had been bad!
OK.....well I am going to go to the gym now.
