Laying in bed

Welcome to Chaos !!

Laying in bed

Tatiana is laying in bed, she is going to sleep soon but first she is going to read some more of "1984" by George Orwell. No, she has not read this famous book.....yet.....in the process of now. Started it last night.
George Orwell, (his pen name) was "bitterly opposed to social injustice, political oppression, he was a socialist who attacked both capitalism and communism, a literary critic who savaged all that he saw false to life as it was lived and reality as it was, and a novelist who merged his profound political concerns with superbly honored narrative artistry". Interesting man huh? That's not bad.

Anyways, earlier Tatiana went to the mall at Caesar's and the mall at Town Square. Got a pair of jeggings and a hoodie. She is done with most of her shopping now. Most. : )
These jeggings she has wanted for a while and the hoodie she saw last week and could not stop thinking about it.
Jeggings are leggings made of denim. Basically very form hugging jeans.
Caesar's mall is just major excess to the max, of everything. Food, stuff, people everywhere. Tatiana felt bad at the mall. She doesn't need these jeggings and the hoodie, she wants. Now she has what she wanted, and now what? What's next? The latest Hello Kitty perfume?
Yes, Sephora came out with a line of Hello Kitty products, super cute! When Tatiana saw them she wanted all of them, the perfume is really good, it smells like RAVE, that was the first thing that came to mind when she smelled it, RAVE!!!
Tatiana still feels really bad for the people in Japan. She spoke to her friend Kazumi, that lives in Tokyo, last night. Kazumi told Tatiana how scared she was and how frightening the earthquake had been.
And here is Tatiana, safe, well fed, spoiled, laying in bed.
And out there, somewhere, there are people suffering, hungry, cold, sad........Tatiana feels sad. She wishes that everybody could just be safe and ok.
Why so much suffering? What is the point of it?
Good Night.

HELLO KITTY!
KAWAII!!!

1984. He picked a year that was far into the future when he wrote that book - I think to make the subject a little easier to swallow. Do you think his message is obsolete or even more relevant today? Have you read "Brave new world", by Aldous Huxley if I remember correctly.
Earthquakes happen when the tetonic plates collide, they cannot be prevented. What people do in these books is even scarier - because it is on purpose.
I am curious what you conclude after you finish your book.

Yes, earthquakes and natural events like that cannot be prevented, I agree that what people do to each other, when it's awful (like The Holocaust) is scarier - because, like you say, it's on purpose.
I finished the book, except the very last part about the principles of Newspeak and the afterword. I will read that too.
The book made me feel weird, sad and uneasy. I think it is very much relevant today. I think we are at some threshold right about now, it's either going to become similar to 1984 or we will learn how to live better, whatever that is and means.
I know that I want to live a simple life, to me that means a good life, away from large crowds where I can mind my own business more or less.
It made me feel uneasy to think too much into the book, almost like I am programmed not to care too much about things that really matter.
"Until they become conscious they will never rebel, and after they rebelled they cannot become conscious" - from 1984.
I do think that Big Brother exists today.
    What do YOU think?
I know about "Brave New World" but I have not read it.

    Thanks for reading and commenting!

Thank you for mentioning the "1984" book.
    Now we have;
The Great Depression of Capitalism and Greed in 2011. Not one of our leaders 'warned us' to start pulling out our gold fillings and cashing them in for groceries. Many blame the Housing Bubble and those damb Broke People who took on mortgages they couldn't afford. Oh yah sure!!! Some banker came up and said; "I know you can't afford rent.......want a house? "Oh no thanks, I think I would rather continue sleeping in my car because I won't have to cut the lawn."

Congressmen say; The problem came from those who didn't read their mortgage. I tried to read my mortgage but I had a stroke. Into the third page out of 100, I had my first Out Of Body Experience. I levitated over my body and had to promise myself that I would not read the forth page so that I could than re-enter myself.

I just want to tell the kids out there that as an adult I would like to apologize for my generation. We tried but it just hasn't worked out................so your Fucked!!! And in regard to Social Security..............forget it!!!
Since you are not really going to get what is rightfully yours, I say, well, I don't know, gee,.......start stealing stuff from your parents. They won't even remember any way. "Where's that thing, dear? You know, that thing, that thing we got from that guy? You know, that guy? That guy who brought us that thing???

Yes, I agree with you. Weird, sad, and uneasy is such a powerful way to say the subject was affecting. But, too much thinking is not good. Dancing is way better.

Hmmmm.....thinking IS good though, without thinking nothing will ever get accomplished.
Though dancing can be good and fun too but on a different level.
