The Shape Of Water
On Christmas day I went to the movies and saw The Shape of Water by Guillermo del Toro.
I have been waiting for the release of this movie since last summer. I love his movies, in fact Pan's Labyrinth is one of my faves - it is a beautiful masterpiece that resonates with my soul. And this last one is a masterpiece as well.
I loved it. Once it was over the two ladies I went with and I briefed each other on the movie like one does.....you know "how did you like it"? The ladies said that they would not have had a romance with the creature but guess what.....I totally would! I grew up with stories about princesses, faeries and trolls and I still love that old Scandinavian folklore. In my fantasy I am Tuvstarr.....I love all the paintings with princesses with long flowing locks riding through dark thick forests on a moose, interacting with and talking to animals. That is so me.
So yes....to me REAL love is the kind of love that is worth doing almost anything for (I am sooooo romantic I know) and if my true and real love happened to be some kind of a mythical creature then yes, I would do the same thing, I would go live with him in the ocean.
Thinking back to some of my other "loves" (cause hindsight is as we all know 20/20) they were a complete waste of my valuable self and my precious time. Honestly.....none of them were worthy ME but sometimes you don't realize certain things until afterwards. But you live and learn and I am still living. So yes....mythical creature any day of the week if that means real love.
Here is a pic of me and a book I got the last time I was home in Sweden....I love this book.
