Getting Better

So after being in a snow free Washington since Monday last week, I guess no snow this time of year around here is rather unusual, it finally did snow.....on my birthday which passed a couple of days ago on December 27. I don't have much to tell you, just some pictures to show. A birthday came and went and I'm officially a year "older" or BETTER. ;-) It's only getting better! I saw this cute place and had to stop and take a pic because it's SO me, books, coffee, sandwiches and WIFI......I fit right in! It could easily be my second home.

I had the most delicious banana bread at a coffee shop in Coeur d'Alene called Vault. I like that town.

Today I went for a short hike in a snow filled forest, it was actually cold here today. And very beautiful.

Now I'm in bed and I'm about to turn up the heat in my room because it's officially 11ยฐF outside. Then it's bed time, I'm getting up early in the morning......before sunrise.

That town i know has a French name......like 'Minot' in North Dakota. Means 'small town'...... Tatiana speaks waaaay more French than I ever will but I did study it in school and I was positive that minot had a meaning in French. Tatiana disagreed for a long time but finally I looked it up and....... 98% of the time when I INSIST that I am right, it turns out that I am right. If I am not sure of something I will say that I am not sure........ ๐Ÿ˜ . Tatiana - I am just sharing memories and I do not want you to take any of this as a personal attack in any way. Da Nang...... I am curious if that brand still exists...... ??

OK....? I never learned that minot means small in French. To me small is petit/e. Cute is mignon. Town is ville. So therefore I perhaps disagreed and I don't know if I agree that you are right 98% of the times when you insist something is right but it really doesn't matter as long as it's not pertaining something super important. Right? Minot.....who cares. I recall you (and I) were not sure how to pronounce it and I said it sounded French.
Coeur D'alene sounds French. Coeur means heart. It's actually written cล“ur to be correct.

The picture in front of the coffee shop is pretty, with all the snowflakes.
Shit if they said Minot right, the T would be silent. Like Voldermort.
Everybody has been saying it wrong all along.
Anyways. Wikipedia says it was named after a Henry Minot. Boring...like most of the Midwest. The native name for Minot is much more impressive.
Kalamazoo, my town, originated from a native inspired name they used for the river.
    Midwestern trivia...lol

    Wikipedia...
"The city is named after the Coeur d'Alene People, a tribe of Native Americans who live along the rivers and lakes of the region and were first encountered by French fur traders in the late 18th and early 19th century. The name Cล“ur d'Alรจne translated into English means Heart of an Awl, a reflection of the perception of the tribe's traders as very tough businessmen."
So it's the French interpretation of the Native people. Weird.
