Earlier today I was getting out of my car and I saw a woman light up a cigarette in her car, no big deal.....Well the windows were rolled up and a dog was in the car with her.
A few weeks ago I saw some other woman driving and smoking with a young child in the backseat, again windows rolled up. That is SO GROSS! I remember when I was little and adults sometimes would light up a cigarette in the car, the smell was almost unbearable and I had to find a pocket of clean air somewhere so I could breathe.
I would always feel sick and queasy from the cigarette smoke. Don't these people remember how they felt about smoking BEFORE they became smokers? How bad it smelled? How gross is was to be exposed to somebody's fumes and breathe that crap in?
I think that many smokers are really selfish with their cigarette smoke and I have a really hard time with selfish people that trample through life without any consideration for others. Smoking is a great example of that. There is nothing positive about smoking, name one thing! It stinks, it's unhealthy for the smoker and everybody exposed to the second hand smoke and it is gross.
I don't know how you as a parent can drive around with your child in the car, smoking with the windows rolled up? Doesn't it occur to you that it's wrong in so many ways?
Or that poor dog that has to breathe that poisonous air?
I hope they make all bars, restaurants and yes strip clubs smoke free. You can't go to a bar without lighting up a cigarette? You have to have a smoke with your beer? Ok, then stay home and drink and smoke and let me breathe clean air. A designated area for smoking is ok as long as I don't have to be subjected to stinky carcinogenic smoke.
I actually do care about my health and my skin. Many heavy smokers look years older than they are. That is not what I am trying to look like. Thank You!
Why would you expose your kids to the things that bothered you when you were growing up? The same goes for forcing a kid to eat some food that they can't stomach. Sure kids need to eat but they have taste buds too, just like grown ups. I could not stand spinach and milk. I hated that. And guess what, my Mom would serve spinach at least a few times a month. In Sweden it's called "spenat" and it looks like a dark green mush and is served warm and I couldn't stand the taste of it. I also had to drink a glass of milk with dinner, just because it's good for you supposedly. I would force myself to drink that glass of milk at the very end of every meal and sometimes I wanted to puke it up. Talk about torture! When I was about 12 I put my foot down and my Mom finally understood that I really didn't want to eat spinach and drink milk. I could never force a child to eat something they don't like, that's wrong. It's one thing to make sure your kid eats and it's another to make it eat stuff that they don't like. I still don't drink milk by itself. I have milk in my latte, I eat cheese, yoghurt etc but a glass of milk? I would barf.
