Hello Wednesday

It was difficult to get up and get going today, gray out. Funny that the weather can have such an impact on a person. All I wanted to do was to pull the covers over my head this morning, well noon is morning for me and hibernate like a bear. But I got up, it snowed some more last night........my car had a thin layer of new snow on it.

I went to Coffee Roasters for a vanilla latte and a blueberry scone and my day miraculously improved instantly! :-D

The snow will be melting soon enough......like at the end of April. ONLY about three more months! Yeay! Meanwhile I can look through all my pics of warmer climates, like this one on an empty stretch of road in the desert........

Photographer Barry Gallegos. You want to see all the other pics that Barry took of me in the blog? I know you do because they are AMAAAAAZING........Barry is that good! Just type in his name in the search bar in the upper right hand corner. And voilΓ !

And I laughed today when I saw
this
Those are some funny pics of Beyonce! And yes, she is very talented and beautiful but I find her kind of boring and predictable. She always does the same marching, stomping and head jerking dance. The same for years now. I don't think it looks good. Rihanna is so much more interesting! And HOT!!!!

Rape

So most people that live in the US heard about the horrific rape that happened in India back in December, unless you live under a rock or do not care about any kind of media, well good that you read my blog at least.
I felt SO bad for the girl that suffered through that and have thought of her pretty much every day since I heard about that rape. If you do not know about it.....the girl got gang-raped on a bus by six men and brutally sodomized, she later died from her injuries. She was only 23. As I am writing this I am fighting back tears. I know that there have been other rapes in India and all over the world since then. It happens all the time.
The problem with India and countries where many view woman as property or second class citizens is that rape often goes unpunished when reported. The men get a slap on the wrist, they might pay a bribe and get away with no punishment. Many of the women are ashamed that they got raped, many do not report it because they do not want to bring shame on their family.
I even read that the scumbag defense lawyer appointed to a few of the so called human beings that committed the rape made a public statement in where he put some of the blame on the victim. You know, she was asking for it type of mentality. Really? She was asking for it? This poor girl, OMG my heart aches for her. Yeah, she asked to get her intestines pulled out, to get a metal rod shoved in her, to have six nasty strangers taking turns gang-raping her.
" The lawyer representing three of the men accused of gang-raping a student aboard a bus in India last month blamed the victim for the attack, saying "respected" women in India are not raped.
Manohar Lal Sharma said 23-year-old Jyoti Singh Pandey and her male friend were "wholly responsible" for the horrific torture they suffered in the Dec. 16 attack in New Delhi because they were an unmarried couple on the streets at night, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.
"Until today I have not seen a single incident or example of rape with a respected lady," Sharma told the newspaper. "Even an underworld don would not like to touch a girl with respect."
WTF????????!!!!
Or how about a statement made by some obviously delusional self proclaimed Indian "spiritual" leader.
"Asaram Bapu told followers in a sermon that the victim was as responsible as her attackers, and that she should have "chanted god's name" and "fallen at their feet" to beg for mercy. "Guilt is not one-side" Bapu said in the sermon. β€œShe should have called the culprits brothers and begged before them to stop," he added."

I am sure she did BEG THEM TO STOP!!!!! I want all six to die, execute them! Why waste any money on keeping them alive, feeding them, giving them space. Kill them. Of course they are all pleading not guilty and might get out of this free. But you know what, if even one of them did not want to participate in the rape or felt against it, I guess he could had gotten off that bus!
But none of them got off the bus.

I am not saying that rapes do not happen here in the US, yes women get raped here too. But the majority of the public's ATTITUDES towards rape differs. You are not going to have some defense lawyer making a public statement in a case like this saying that the victim asked for it or that respectable women don't get raped. I mean, that would cause huge protests and I don't even think a defense lawyer would dare say something like that here (in the US), he would get fired and shunned by society. And rightfully so. Or dudes walking around thinking that raping somebody is not a big deal and that they can just rape and most likely get away with it. Yes, men rape women here but I suspect most of them are aware that rape is punishable and not accepted.
You know, I thought about it when I was at the gym last week. I was walking on the treadmill, in the same room as me were five guys also working out. I was the only girl. Not even once did I feel afraid that even one of them would dare put a finger on me, let alone that all five would gang up and hurt me in any kind of way. I feel that I can move around freely and do whatever without some man acting in a threatening way towards me. Sure there have been times when I have looked over my shoulder, walking home alone at night for example. Or to my car. I rather make sure I am safe. I've had confrontations with dumb asses that mouth off to me at work but I am not afraid that they are going to rape me. And I do not feel that a woman should EVER feel shame if a man rapes her.
But I guess in places like India and many other countries as a woman you can't ever feel safe. You live in fear or you just stay away from society and stay inside or hide under a burqa when doing errands because men supposedly can't control themselves when around women that show some skin, even if it's just some arm or a lower leg or form fitting clothing.
FUCK THAT! It makes me so pissed off! Women should carry around tasers or guns and blast perverts in the nut sack if they even step an inch too close for their comfort. It is not the women that should avoid going about their business in society. If men can't control themselves and their sexual "urges" or whatever it is that makes somebody commit a rape then it is the men that need to avoid being out in society. Impose mandatory chemical castration on men that show a behavior that might lead to rape.
And don't think for a second that I am some kind of an angry man hater or think that all men are no good rapists. Absolutely not. I would never be around men as much as I am if I hated them,
I could never torture myself like that.

I found a blog called www.whiteindianhousewife.com
It's really interesting and Sharell, the woman writing the blog touches on the rape issue slightly, you can read that entry here
And make sure to read the comments too!
Well, with having said all of this, I am going to take out my contacts and try to sleep. It's almost 4 am and dark outside. I feel sad for the Indian girl and her family......... deep sigh . I hope she is in a beautiful place now. And I am grateful that I am free and that my snoring baby Chhaya is laying next to me in bed. Kicking me and showing her teeth, she is dreaming. So cute!

Sun Is Shining

The sun is out and shining today! I have lots of energy and in a bit I am going to take Chhaya for a walk and then I am going to work on some projects around the house. I love getting things done and some days are great for that - like today!
I don't have a lot to write about right now, check back later. If I stay home tonight I will probably write a blog later......cause I know that YOU NEED!

Gun

I read that Chris Kyle got shot dead at a gun range, I actually have his autobiography at home, * American Sniper *. I have a gun, when I lived in Sweden I would had never pictured myself with a gun and now I have one, although it scares me and I barely know how to shoot it. I thought of going to a gun range to practice but those places really freak me out because I think that there might be some psycho there at the same time as me, exactly what happened to Chris Kyle. And yes, that is my gun on the pic, I don't have the clip in on purpose, like I said - it scares me.

I need some more great books to immerse myself in........preferably a thick novel that will take me longer than two days to finish. Or I am going to have to dig around in my books here at home and re read some of them.

Kaladi

I met Lexi for lunch yesterday.......we ate at Fine Thyme cafe inside River City bookstore, it was good. The town was dead because most people were at home watching the Super Bowl. I had to stop by Kaladi first and get my vanilla latte though.
I got a brilliant idea, next time somebody asks me for my number at work I am just going to give them the number to the club! And they can call that all they want. LOL.
It's perfect. And kind of funny too! Me and Lexi were laughing about it.
Speaking of work........here is some news in the stripping world regarding a club in Fargo called The Northern that I have been thinking about trying out for a while now......

"FARGO, N.D. - Three dancers have settled a federal lawsuit against the lone strip club in North Dakota's largest city.
The dancers from North Dakota and Minnesota sued Ferny Properties LLC in December 2011 in U.S. District Court in Fargo, alleging they were owed more than $188,000 for work at The Northern Gentlemen's Club between 2008 and 2011.
The dancers' attorney, Leo Wilking, tells The Forum newspaper that the case has been resolved out of court and details are not being released."

Interesting and I am happy for the girls. Maybe The Northern is a good place to work at, I don't know. But at the same time, the rules that are in effect at all the other places that employ people apply even for us girls that dance. It seems like the majority of strip club owners seem to forget this small detail and that will not hold up in court. I need to sue! :-)
$ 100 000 or more would not be bad. I have worked at some clubs where I had to pay anything from $ 50 -100 if I was sick on a scheduled day. Really?

Amazingly Enough I Don't Give A Shit

Last night I had the pleasure to chat at work with an educated gentleman about all kinds of things, covering topics from 1984 and Brave New World to how those issues are very relevant in today's society to our shared beliefs in population control and that the educated people in the US tend to stick to having one child or none while the rest choose to reproduce with no apprehension, how fun it is to go to Wal Mart and see "Wal Mart people" to a discussion about the Second Amendment and the recent influx of news about shootings that are fed to the people........and what is the real reason behind that is, you might wonder.......? Just to mention a few topics that got covered. About time somebody with a working brain came in. So yeah, I had a good night. And then there were some persistent drunks or meth heads or a mix of both that could absolutely not understand why I didn't want to join them. One guy claimed to "have the most money in the place", well fantastic for you then but I'm good where I am, enjoying a civilized and interesting conversation instead of having to suffer in your annoying company and the money you might be willing to share. No thanks. Oh and then the neanderthal from not too long ago came back, the one I got kicked out because he demanded my phone number from me and then when I declined to give it to him decided to call me a bitch an few times. Yeah, him.
Of course I ignored him.......although I could see that he was looking at me now and then.
By the way I am a very observant person in general, I see and hear everything - like Superman. So then at the end of the night he decided to come up and apologize for his behavior, but I cut him off and told him that I didn't want to hear it. Apologize a few more times and then MAYBE I will accept it. And think before you verbally assault somebody for no reason next time. Anyways........
So a few night ago I was talking to a guy that told me that he has been telling all kinds of people about me (good things). I've heard this many times before. Because people don't think it is worth even coming into the club because they have heard there are no pretty girls working there. According to him I would be hot in even Scottsdale Arizona. Really? I have to go there immediately! LOL.
The thing is that the club I am at has a rather bad reputation. Or should I say, the local women in town talk a lot of trash and spread rumors that all the girls working here at the club are very unattractive, have all kinds of diseases (STD's) and that it is an awful place in general. I have talked to a few of the girls that have worked here for some time now and they all say that some years ago the women working in the club were indeed rather "rough" looking and behaved that way too but that it has cleaned up and improved a lot since then. I think that there are some girls in the club that should not be dancing and that is my personal opinion but I have seen girls that I don't think should be dancing in Anchorage, Vegas, New York, Denver, Grand Junction, LA - you name it. And then of course we have a few that should not be dancing because they are plain dirty whores at work. THAT is very bad for business. Be like that outside of the club all you want. And if you are a guy that goes to clubs and you think that it is great that some girl is jerking you off or going down on you - think again! Most likely, she is NOT keeping her hands and mouth clean in between guys so if somebody has some crotch related problem chances are that you will leave the club with the same problem. If you visit a brothel on the other hand you will get the same service but without the risk of getting an STD because they practice safe sex in brothels. The sex act in itself has no place in a strip club and it is up to the owner and manager of the club to make sure the rules are followed! I have NO respect for dancers that do shit like that. You are not a dancer if you do this, call yourself what you really are. And go work in a brothel or something so I don't have to look at you.
Actually last night six local ladies came in and they were all very nice and had fun and all of them were of the big and beautiful caliber. So for women to spread nasty rumors and lies around that ALL strippers are ugly, gross and dirty makes me wonder what they really look like? I can understand getting upset if a your boyfriend or husband makes a habit of coming in but confront HIM about that, don't make up bullshit about the dancers. I personally am not interested in breaking up any marriage or take anyone's boyfriend. I have never been involved with a taken man. Do you really think that I want to be your children's new Mom? No thanks. I do not need your kids, your man or anything that belongs to you. The only married man I think is absolutely irresistible is Chester Bennington and even he would have to get a divorce before I would get with him. I would make an exception to deal with the unwanted baggage of his kids for him.
So FYI, I am not some ugly, disease ridden, dumb skank trying to take your man. Most likely I am more educated than you are. Having seen a lot of the SHOUGARS and SLORES around this town I understand why they feel insecure and jealous. I wouldn't want to be them either. Like it is so much better to go out to the local bars, get wasted, act like a dumb ass and sleep around.
At least I make money at the bar I am at, I don't get wasted and sleep around with random people either. I guess that is ok if that's what you really want to do but then stand for that behavior and don't talk shit about dancers that don't do that.
I am not claiming that dancing is an occupation that takes a certain level of intelligence, anyone can do it. And I am not saying that what I do is changing the world for a better place. But then again, what do YOU do to make this world a better place? Anything? I am myself a big believer in altruism and hopefully one day I will be able to do something meaningful on a daily basis. Meanwhile I am dancing and I am happy. Do not be so quick to judge all dancers is what I am trying to say. I have met many dancers with great personalities, intelligence and looks - quite a combination! And to the people that do think I am a deplorable and immoral person because of what I do.......guess what? Amazingly enough I don't give a shit! ;-) XOXO
