Happy 4th of July

Happy 4th of July everybody! Happy Independence Day! I have not decided if I am going to stay home and work later tonight or if I am going to drive to Girdwood and check out the 40th annual Forest Fair. It's a bit windy and chilly out, so I'm not sure. I hope everybody will have a wonderful day! ❀ ❀ ❀ I love America!
My friend Roxy took these pics of me last night and she let me borrow her flag, thank you Roxy!

The Palomino

When I was in Vegas I decided to try working at the Palomino, I have always been curious about that club. It has been around since 1969 and it's one of the oldest, if not the oldest, strip clubs in Las Vegas. It's the only club in Las Vegas that serves alcohol and has completely nude dancers. All the other clubs that serve alcohol have topless only dancers.

So one night I went in a tried it out. I have to say that the manager that hired me was very nice and professional, that is a HUGE plus. Also, in case you are curious about working there yourself, the first week you work it's free house fee. That is a great offer to take advantage of. The house fees vary depending on what time you come in. You have 45 minutes to get ready and dressed and be out on the floor after you walk into the club. If you are not ready within 45 minutes I guess you can be charged a $10 late fee. I think that 45 minutes is plenty of time to get ready.

But on top of the house fees there are plenty other tip outs at the Palomino, it can become pricey to work there. At the end of your shift you are to tip out the manager, the amount is not set so I guess it's up to you. The DJ, even if you do not go on stage. At the Palomino you have the option to stay off the stage. House Mom needs a tip too, even if you do not use her services or products. She has to sign a piece of paper before you leave so I guess that warrants for a tip (lame). Then you are supposed to valet your car, so the guy that parks your car needs a tip too. I personally hate valet parking, I do not want people I do not know have any access to and drive my car. I just don't like that.
And after every set of dances you do in the VIP room you are supposed to tip the floor "host" that signs you in when you enter the VIP room. I was told by the manager to tip $20 out of every $100 set I do. He told me that all the floor "hosts"/bouncers pool the tips and share them. BUT what? I am dancing 3 songs for $100 and then I'm supposed to give $20 of that away and keep $80 for myself? NO way, that is too much! From my understanding most girls give $10 out of the $100 for 3 songs and the $150 for 15 minutes, which is more fair BUT I don't think that you should pay anything for your dances to the club if you already pay a set house fee. You can also do $20 topless dances out on the floor on a couch in a corner but most people that get dances at the Palomino go in the VIP rooms. What the Fantasy Rooms are all about I do not know, those are located on the second floor. There is also a stage up there but that area did not open up the night I worked.

The VIP rooms are kind of private, meaning they are partially walled off and have sheer curtains that divide the small rooms from each other. The floor host walks around and also lets you know when your time is up. I felt like the Palomino might be too much hands on for my taste. I prefer clubs that are strictly no touching or restricted touching, those are the clubs I do best in. Because it makes it fair. I never ever offer more than lap dances and do not allow touching all over my body. I think that a lap dance is more than enough in a strip club, a full on body pat down is not necessary. I'm not saying that every dancer at the Palomino does extras (extras in strip club lingo means that the dancer offers more than just lap dances) but I do think that there are some that do, for sure. And to prove my point, check out these notices put up in the dressing room areas.

I definitely can't "compete" with that type of "entertainment". And I am using the word "compete" loosely here since I do not see it as a competition. I am a clean dancer, period.
And I take pride in that. If you are looking for something else, I am NOT the girl for you.
I feel like the management/owner of the Palomino put up these kind of messages to the dancers in the dressing rooms because it was a problem and getting out of hand. At least they are trying to clean up the club and not turning a blind eye to these issues, like so many other managers/owners sadly do. So I applaud them for their effort.
I should add here that the Palomino is located in North Las Vegas on Las Vegas Blvd, in an area that is considered bad. Now that doesn't bother me whatsoever. I have worked in many clubs in so called "bad" areas, that doesn't necessary mean that the money is bad.
Many clubs are located in sketchy areas, that's just how it is.
Next to the Palomino, separated by a parking lot, there is another club - Chicas Bonitas.
A club catering to the Latin community from what I understand. A friend of mine went in there to check it out and she told me that a few of the dancers at Chicas Bonitas told her that is was completely normal to leave the club with a guy visiting the club during your shift to a nearby hotel for some extracurricular activities, only to come back to the club when done. So if that is common at Chicas Bonitas it means that the club has a pretty seedy reputation, which tells me that the Palomino might have a similar reputation. I mean, it's right next door.
I felt a bit of a pedophilia vibe at the Palomino. Many of the dancers were under 21.
And looked like it too. Very small and barely developed. You can turn 18 and go in there and start working. The under 21 girls wear special bracelets that tell the cocktail waitresses that they can't be served alcohol plus they have to stay out of the bar area. I personally do not think that girls should be allowed to work in this business until they are 21, this is my own personal opinion based on what I have seen during my years dancing. I feel like many of the young girls are too immature to make good decisions and sometimes do things that they really don't want to do and that they can't stand up for themselves and say no. You might not agree with this but that is my opinion.
Since the Palomino is located in North Las Vegas you have to get a sheriff's card that is valid for that area of town.
Here are some other fun facts about the Palomino.....

The whole thing about sitting on the stage etc is or SHOULD BE common dancer etiquette but still needs to explained a lot to girls. Picking up money with your bare crotch? I mean, really now? I don't even feel like I need to comment on that one....

It is SAD that some "dancers" are prostitutes. Actually they are not dancers when they do whatever they do, they are hookers plain and simple. Do whatever you want to do OUTSIDE of the club. It's not my concern then. You want to have a pimp and have sex with different guys every day.....OK good for you.
Again, I like that the management and owner of the Palomino are working on this issue and that they are trying to uphold a good working environment for the girls.
I only worked at the Palomino one night. To be fair I think that you should work at a club for a week to get a good feel for it, unless there is something you absolutely hate about the place.
I did not stay a week because I had limited time left in Vegas and felt that I would make more money at a different club.

Abba Therapy

I spent a few hours in bed last night watching Abba videos, singing along of course (that's mandatory) and feeling very sentimental. Nothing like some good Abba therapy!
While watching the videos and many pics of the band I have to say that Agnetha must be the most beautiful creature that ever came out of Sweden. Much has already been said about her, people have raved about her looks for ages, since she first became famous. But watching those videos last night only confirmed it to me even more. Absolute flawless NATURAL beauty, to me there is nothing like natural beauty. Real hair, no hair extensions or crazy colors. No MAC force field make up and contouring to completely change what you really look like. Real and beautiful body, no fake body parts and surgeries. She could just stand there and smile and radiated beauty. That can never be bought, however much people try. And I really dig some of the outfits she wore but this one is probably my favorite. A pink bodysuit with a large cutout heart on the torso. I would like one like that for myself. There are not many pics of Agnetha in that outfit, too bad because that is AMAZING!

Chhaya gets lots of cuddles and many kisses from me in bed. Good that she doesn't mind, doesn't even bat an eyelid. Actually she always lays down next to me, body to body.

I also occupied myself with going through all my makeup and cleaning my makeup tote. Throwing away some stuff that I won't use again. Then I went through my nail polish bag, same there, a few bottles went in the trash and a few others I am going to drop off at work. Maybe somebody else will make use of them since I won't anymore. I also picked out some colors for my fingers and toes. The blue and silver glitter for my fingers and the pink and the pink glitter for my toes.

When I feel a bit down, like I have for a few days now, I think that doing something for somebody else is nice. It makes me feel better. There is a little girl that I have seen around here that I wanted to give a present to. I first met this girl about two weeks ago. She played with a plastic bag attached to a string, I am sure she has other toys and this does not indicate that she is not a happy or well taken care of at all. But she was so sweet that I wanted to give her something. I remember my own childhood and that I did not have a lot the first years in Sweden but I was very well looked after by my Mom. I loved drawing, writing, reading and jumping jump rope. Hopefully she will like her present. I gave it to her Mom earlier today. Well, I need to walk Chhaya now and then get busy with those blues and pinks.

Not Feeling It

I have been down for the last couple of days. I feel burdened with too many responsibilities that I feel are completely unnecessary and having to deal with annoying stuff. I'm so over it, I just want to sleep and not deal with anything. What's the point anyways? Paying bills, being responsible, doing this.....doing that, taking care of a bunch of stuff. For what? So you (I) can just die in the end? Because that is exactly what's going to happen.
I miss my family and friends in Sweden. I talked to my Mom for a long time last night and another friend in Sweden. That made me feel a bit better. I know I am just in a temporary funk, I'm probably going to feel like my normal self soon. But right now......I'm just not feeling it. Same reoccurring thoughts about the meaning of life that I get every so often.
The sun came out a bit today after a few days of hiding behind the clouds, so I got naked and tanned in my yard. Now I have to go and get some food so I can cook something to eat when I get hungry.
Here are the trees outside my bedroom window that I like to look at when I'm laying in bed with my laptop. I get lost in looking at the branches swaying back and forth in the wind and the changing of the seasons.

Queasy

The weekend is almost over, it's Sunday evening and as usual I made errands earlier, came home, fixed food for me and Chhaya and later on we went for a walk. She is sleeping now, dreaming and kicking her legs, curled up body to body with me. I've been feeling queasy all day. A sick feeling, like nausea and a faint lingering headache. I know exactly what it stems from - smoke exposure. I feel like this on a regular basis after an evening at work. The club here is awful, almost everybody is a heavy smoker and the ventilation is really bad.
There have been times when it's so smoky in the club that I am looking for air pockets so I can breathe. I have to fan the air in front of my face so I can take a breath that doesn't taste like smoke. Of course this is not healthy. To prove my point even more a girl I work with, a non smoker too, told me that she recently went in for a physical. She told the doctor that she is a non smoker but the test results came back saying that she is a smoker. Unbelievable!
The club here in town is the only place where she gets subjected to secondhand smoke and it's obviously so severe that the test results done on her as part of a physical say that she is a smoker. That test result lead to her having to pay more for her insurance. Is this right? Absolutely not. The club should pay that increase, not her.
I think it is extremely irresponsible and selfish of business owners to allow smoking inside their establishments. It's 2015 and everybody knows, or should know how BAD smoking is for your own health if you happen to smoke AND for the people that get exposed to secondhand smoke. It's one thing if you don't care about your health but do not poison other people's health with your cigarettes. That is just WRONG. If you think I am exaggerating do your own research about smoking, secondhand smoke and health, there is plenty to read on the subject.
To prove this point even more, I listened to a radio show earlier this afternoon. Info Track I think it's called and they talked about smoking, health and smoke bans. A professor from University of California San Francisco said that recent studies show that there are a significant amount less cases of heart attacks, strokes and asthma directly related to smoking and exposure to smoke in places where there is a strong ban on smoking. Less visits to the hospital for serious issues like these mean a lesser cost on society, millions are saved.
A stroke is serious business. It's nothing that I aspire to ever have to go through. About half of the country is now covered under strong smoking laws and I really hope the other half follows in that direction. Yes, I get it. It's not easy to quit smoking supposedly. The professor on Info Track said nicotine is more addicting than heroin and cocaine. I don't know, I never been addicted to any substances. But I don't want to feel like I do today on a regular basis because of other people's bad habits. My body is telling me it's poisoned. Sure, it's my choice to work in the club but the way I look at it, it is the club (owner/s) that needs to get with the times and realize that they need to ban smoking. Many other businesses here in town banned smoking already, businesses like restaurants and bars. And they got very positive responses. They obviously cared enough about their employees and the customers that do not smoke and actually smokers are a minority but they seem like a majority here on the Kenai Peninsula. You can still cater to the smokers, build a smoking area outside. It's simple to do. I know that some people don't like to go to the club because of the smoke, I also know smokers that think it's way too smoky in there, so imagine how it feels for non smokers then. And I also know of girls that work a night or a few but then decide that the smoke is too much and don't come back. It would not surprise me if non smokers will start suing the places they work at where smoking is allowed if they develop health problems due to the smoke.
It's easy to say "don't go there if you don't like the smoke"......sure, until YOU or somebody you love gets a stroke, heart attack or lung cancer caused by cigarettes. Then you will understand that health is priceless and you will most like regret all those cigarettes you enjoyed over the years.
I found an article that talks about strip clubs and smoking and I think it brings up many good points and facts. Yeah, smoking is GROSS. It feels so outdated, definitely NOT trendy.
It's time to get with the times and ban smoking in public places. Do whatever you want in the privacy of your home but if you do smoke, I hope that you are smart enough to keep that secondhand smoke away from your kids AND pets (if you have any).

Shot Dead

In between the very important news about Kim K's growing badonkadonk and pregnancy and that her little sister Kylie gets lip injections, her ass inflated and hangs out with older dudes we also have the news that a massacre took place in Tunisia. Responsibility taken by the Islamic State, again. This is on repeat now. "Tunisian Secretary of State for Security Rafik Chelly told Mosaique FM the gunman was a student previously unknown to the authorities."He entered by the beach, dressed like someone who was going to swim, and he had a beach umbrella with his gun in it," Chelly said." So far 38 people are dead. I say so far because some might be critically injured and not make it.
WHY? WHY? WHY? JUST WHY? This makes me feel a SICK feeling inside.
I have always wanted to go to Morocco, Tunisia and Egypt but I can't say that I want to since a few years now because I feel it's not safe. In fact I would love to go to several other countries in Africa but that might be indefinitely put on hold.
Then we have the "normal" Muslim that beheaded his boss in France. He impaled the severed head on a fence and surrounded the scene with Islamist flags. Yes, "normal" indeed.
ISIS is promising more terror, meaning MURDER.
I so very much admire Marine Le Pen. She is loudly speaking, in my opinion, what needs to be done. I wish more politician were like her. We got Jimmie Γ…kesson in Sweden, the leader for the party Sverige Demokraterna. He has taken so much shit in Sweden from fellow politicians and been ridiculed so much in general for speaking THE TRUTH, that I am surprised that he has the strength to go on. In Sweden it is a huge mistake to openly sympathize with Sverige Demokraterna, it's not politically correct and you will be labeled a racist and might even lose your job. IN FACT, my brother lost his job because of this. Yep he did. I might not agree with everything Sverige Demokraterna stands for, I think they have some backwards views on some issues that I think they definitely need to work on but regarding their thoughts on immigration issues I agree.
And I am fully aware of that a crazy kid walked into a church last week here in the US and shot dead nine people. The shooter, 21 years old and white, killed nine black people. Terrorism? No, I would not call this terrorism, this is a crazy/confused kid with some serious issues. My guess is that he grew up drinking in a trailer park in the South somewhere. Drinking your formative teen years away in trailer parks does not contribute to much good usually, certainly not a positive personal development. There are plenty of problems in the US, people here are arguing over race and flags but let's not forget that there is plenty of black on black violent and deadly crime (like Chicago aka Chiraq) that should be addressed by Al Sharpton and his followers. But you better believe that ISIS would gladly have every evil non Muslim American and evil non Muslim European killed if they could, white or black doesn't matter. Cause you know what they say - convert or die. Islam......the religion of peace. As you can see.
