Last Night

Tatiana glued on the tarantulas and headed out in the cold, dark Alaskan winter night for an evening at work.
When 3 AM rolled around Tatiana was freezing, coughing, feeling weak and very tired, as you can see. That's a tired Tatiana!
Maybe not well enough for work yet, though she thought she was.......she was feeling so cold she had to leave.
A warm bed, Chhaya and some hot soup were waiting at home.

Beautiful Winter Wonderland

It was a perfect winter day today, winter wonderland! Me and Chhaya went for a long walk and enjoyed every minute of the warm,
sunny, gorgeous day. I love watching Chhaya having a good time, that makes me happy.
It is now after 7 PM and it is still light outside, so nice! I am on the couch, not doing much, being lazy.

Simply Asia

I have been eating these every day since Monday, Simply Asia soups, super cheap, only $ 2.69! And super yummy, I cut up some fresh
jalapeno and put it in the soup too. Very good.
Feeling much better today. My sinuses in my forehead were totally congested last night, I felt awful, so I flushed them out with a mixture
of water and salt. And it helped, my ears popped and today I can breathe through my nose.
Resting tonight. But back to work tomorrow.

Some of my FAVE pics

Here are some of my absolute favorite pics of me and Chhaya. These were taken a few years ago in Kincaid Park by Mick Cukurs, a great photographer. Chhaya looks so cute in the pics.......! Especially in the one where she proudly displays her bite. Her temper matches mine, very mean when needed, I am Polish after all = hot temper.

WTF

So this afternoon I was looking at www.adn.com to see what the latest news are around here in Alaska.....and I read this......

"Three horses owned by Haines Borough police officer Cassandra McEwen were suffering "extreme neglect" and "barely alive" when a veterinarian first saw them in mid-January. The horses are now being cared for by the Haines Animal Rescue Kennel while the borough and Alaska State Troopers await approval from the Alaska Department of Public Safety to conduct an investigation into a fellow officer, reports the Chilkat Valley News.
"I worked many years on neglect cases and I've seen lots of starved animals and those were the worst-looking horses I'd ever seen. They were completely emaciated. ... The first few days were really touchy. I didn't think they were going to make it," [veterinarian] Elizabeth Lyons said [last] week.
Manure in the stalls was knee-deep and covered the horses that were rolling in it attempting to stay warm, Lyons said.
McEwen wrote a letter to the Chilkat Valley News acknowledging "difficulty keeping the horses' weight stable this winter," which she attributed to bad hay.
A fourth horse owned by McEwen was euthanized last year after it developed hoof rot. The Chilkat Valley News has subsequently reported that McEwen has been placed on two weeks of paid administrative leave."

This makes me so mad. I can't stand people that mistreat animals or children. If you can't care for something then do not take on that
responsibility. If you choose to live like a slob that's fine, but don't subject others to it.
And on top of it, this dumb bitch is a cop. I find it very funny that cops pull people over for nothing and make life miserable for others while many
of them apparently do not live their own lives to what I would consider a normal standard.
I think she should get fired when they prove animal abuse on her part. She should not be allowed to be a cop anymore.
Letting her horses starve. I don't care if she was depressed, low on cash, whatever excuse she might come up with is not valid - you care for
your animals. Two weeks PAID administrative leave? Basically a paid vacation.
If I had my own business I would rather hire a person with a bad drug test than somebody abusing animals or children.
Dumb bitch, I hope she gets to starve one day. She should never be allowed to own an animal again, or reproduce.

Snow

There is so much snow out. Tatiana should go skiing in Girdwood as soon as she gets better.
The snow is so high that Chhaya can stand outside in level with the windows, that's kind of funny.
Earlier this year it snowed so much in Valdez that they were hiring snow removal people, they were snowed in there and needed help,
the salary was like $ 20/hour. Tatiana went to Wal Mart the other day because she wanted to get Chhaya a sled of some sort so she can pull
Tatiana around. Chhaya is soooooo strong and loves tugging and pulling, but they didn't have any sleds. Why? Lame.
