Tatiana's day.....so far.....

Tatiana slept until 1 pm........got up and managed to tan (totally nekkid of course, who wants tan lines?) outside for about 30 minutes before the sun decided to hide behind a large mass of clouds and the wind picked up.
Then it was time to walk around Arc Lake, but Tatiana and Chhaya call it Eagi Lake because there are a ton of eagles hanging out there. Really. If you are into bird watching, that is the place to be. Lots of fish jumping in that lake too. Chhaya loves that place.
Tatiana is also trying to talk Chhaya into adopting a boy pitbull. That would be soooooo cute, Chhaya could have a friend and a boyfriend! But Tatiana senses that Chhaya is not totally sold on the idea, Chhaya is a very territorial young lady. But Tatiana would love to add another pit to the family, like a two year old boy, he could keep Chhaya company and play tug with her, that would be good.
Then Tatiana felt hungry, so she went and got food. Today's meal consisted of a sandwich, rhubarb pie and an iced vanilla latte with whipped cream.
Lately Tatiana has been craving some new books to read, it's been only gossip and fashion mags lately. Tatiana should fill you in on the latest gossip and what she thinks about it. But anyway.....so Tatiana found some books that she is going to read. Not much beats the company of a good book.
"Princess" by Jean Sasson. It's a true story about a princess in Saudi Arabia. Tatiana loves reading about people in other places, interesting.
The other book is "The Harvard Psychedelic Club" by Don Lattin. The title speaks for itself. Tatiana loves to soak up all kinds of knowledge on this subject, psychedelics. Books make Tatiana happy.
Later on Tatiana is going to wash her hair and get ready for work. It is time for a trim, Tatiana hair is getting to be really long. Last time she had a cut, the girl that cut her hair took off 3 inches, this time Tatiana is trimming no more than 1 inch.
Tatiana often gets asked if she ever cuts her hair or if she always had long hair. Yes, she usually gets two, sometimes three hair cuts a year. Not much though. She does not take off more than 2 inches, she thought 3 inches was too much, she felt weird after she cut that much. And no, Tatiana has not always had long hair. But for a while now. In Sweden it was kind of short at some point, then longer but far from as long as now. When Tatiana came to the US and lived in sunny California, she noticed that her hair started growing really fast and she just suddenly ended up with long hair, she likes it and she is keeping it for now.
Tatiana watched "Ellen" today. Ellen is still in the top of Tatiana's girl crush list, she is SO cute and funny! What the heck Ellen......you should get rid of Portia and start dating Tatiana. More fun! Install a stripper pole in your house and let Tatiana show you some real moves.
Another current girl crush is Rihanna. She is YUMMY. Face and body. Tatiana would totally date her.

Windy Tuesday

Managed to crawl out of bed about 20 minutes ago. Chhaya made a point of curling up right next to me and be extra cuddly so I stayed in bed longer and enjoyed her warm, furry body.
It is gray and cold out. It is supposedly really warm and sunny in Sweden, like 80 degrees something (27 -30 Celsius) everybody is wearing shorts and is laying out tanning, eating strawberries.........nice.......! I am jealous, I want to be laying out in the sun too! So far I got two tanning sessions in but it was still a little chilly to lay out.
I am going to brush Chhaya's teeth now and then we will probably drive to the beach for a little walk. Then I am going to decide on what to eat and later on I am going to work.
OK, time to get going.......
Byeeeeeeeeee !

Pick up your trash already!

Yesterday Tatiana had a talk with one of her friends that lives in Sweden. She told Tatiana how she had asked some guy to pick up some litter she had witnessed him throw on the ground, though there was a trash can close by. Tatiana likes that her friend opened her mouth and said something, it's easy to just look the other way. But she was right!
Tatiana can't stand people that litter. It's gross. Pick up your trash already. If everybody would do THEIR part, picking up the litter they cause, then there wouldn't be any random litter laying around. How difficult can it be?
It is so nasty to find beer cans and bottles in the forest. That is just lazy and nasty.
Tatiana does her part with the littering. And she recycles now, glass, plastic, aluminum cans. There are probably many areas she could improve in. But she is not going to hop on a bike and pedal back and forth to work on the side of the highway anytime soon.

It often takes a long time before litter from the environment disappears.

* Paper and paperboard: 6 months
* Cigarette butts: 2–5 years
* Plastic (PET) Soda Bottles: 5–10 years
* Plastic shopping bags: 10–30 years
* Gum: 20–25 years
* Polystyrene chip wrapping: 90 years
* Tin Can: 80–100 years
* Aluminum Can: 200–400 years
* Six pack bottle wrapping: 450 years
* Golf ball: 100–1000 years

Or some cute, innocent animal might mistake that gum for food and die from eating it.
Smiley
That would be sad, right?
Tatiana likes the anti littering laws in Singapore. Heavy fines and sometimes community service.

Interesting.....

Last night at work Tatiana had a conversation with a guy that is a pilot in the United States Air Force. He told Tatiana lots of interesting things, his perspective on war.
He has been serving in the Air Force for many years now and is planning to retire in about three years. After he retires, all he wants to do is enjoy his life by hiking, fishing and relaxing.
He has been in Afghanistan, Iraq, Turkey, Kuwait, Oman, to name a few places. He said that he does not like it when people come up to him to say thank you for what he is doing for this country. Why? Because he is ashamed. Yep, ashamed. Because the way Americans are acting and running things, because of what he has seen and knows.
He thinks that all the troops should come home, that America has no business in Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya. That the wars are only happening due to interest in oil and money, profit for America only. That Bush, Cheney, Obama and many, many others (in high political positions) have stocks, investments, personal interest in the places America is at war with. That America dropped more than 100 missiles within 24 hours of arriving in Libya, each missile being very, very expensive, manufactured by a company that Cheney has lots of stock in. Coincidence?
That he feels really bad for the poor people in the countries he has been to, because due to the war and destruction, they will be even more poor and miserable. Poor for life. He called them "good people", "friendly". That he always brings lots of Hershey bars for the kids when he goes abroad, cause the kids love that candy and they get so happy.
That he wishes America could use the enormous amount of money that is spent on wars to improve the situation here in America instead, education, schools, rebuilding places like Detroit etc.
He also said that even if Osama would had waived a white flag, he would had been killed on the spot, because that is what the people of this country wanted. He said that he felt weird that the death of Osama caused a celebration resembling a sporting event like the Super Bowl, weird to celebrate the death of another person, even if it was Osama, hated by many Americans.
It was really interesting to talk to an open minded and insightful person about these subjects. A person currently serving in the Air Force. He has seen a lot. He is there, doing it. Not reading about it in the paper, or hearing about it now and then on the evening news, giving the war some fleeting thoughts sometimes.
And he thinks that these wars are a big waste.
What do you think?
Tatiana agrees with him. And she only knows a little about these matters. But there is something that is just so wrong with it. That she knows and feels.
It's wrong that kids as young as 18 go and fight somewhere. How can they possible make an educated decision at that point in their life regarding themselves and possible others? For example.......the latest news that some American soldiers were killing civilians in Afghanistan just for fun. For fun???
Tatiana wants to cry. They have been accused of "solicitation to commit premeditated murder, aggravated assault on Afghan nationals, failing to report crimes and planting evidence." This can be anyone though, behaving like this, an American soldier, German soldier, Afghan soldier. It doesn't matter what nationality you are - it's just wrong to act like this.
War due to financial interest only. Financial gain that majority of the people will never know. Only a few, already wealthy individuals. It's sick.
Tatiana hopes that he will be able to retire and find personal peace.
And she is also hoping for the end of all wars and PEACE all over. Tatiana is a GLOBAL CITIZEN, that's how she sees herself. She might not agree with everybody and like everybody but she does think that war is wrong.

Running

When Tatiana sees an older person or a larger person out running, as in running for exercise, not just running around........she always thinks GOOD for them !!! It takes some will to get off the couch and take your ass running.
It's inspiring to see. Tatiana has been running, not every day, a few times a week and she thinks she can feel and see some difference. It's probably time to put up a new bikini pic here, so you all can see. Right?
Besides that, she is thinking about going swimming, not in a lake, way too cold, Tatiana is not that adventurous. Heated pool.
She has also been reading about Tracy Anderson and her "method" for years now, thinking about maybe getting one of Tracy's dvd's and try one of the workouts, but thinking about something and doing it are for Tatiana two totally different things. She usually does not feel motivated enough to work out to some dvd at home in the living room. The dvd will most likely just collect dust.
