Portland Frog

The last time I was in Portland, you know the burning hell hole and warzone, I decided to make another visit to the area by the ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) fascility.
By the way, Burning Hell Hole would be a great name for a strip club.
I asked a friend if he felt like joining me to check out what the whole of the US and some of the world are watching and talking about......PORTLAND OREGON, nothing like witnessing things with your own eyes and ears if possible. Well, Portland Frog was there. I like Portland Frog.
And other friends.

As you can see a warzone. I am sure the people in Gaza can relate.

I spent about two hours observing things. It was very interesting. I did not see anything violent or any destruction. There were some pepper balls. And a couple of interactions between the ICE agents (I assume?) and the crowd, when they (ICE) came out of the fascility to allow for vehicles to leave. They kind of make way for them. Somebody spoke on one of those really loud police megaphones and warned the crowd that you will get arrested if you do certain things. Fair.
I actually have a personal story about that. The police spoke/yelled at little innocent me via one of those loud megaphones once. I was driving on the I15 in Vegas going home, it was like around 4 am. There were other cars too, Vegas is a 24/7 kind of place. Anyhow, all of a sudden I hear like a loud voice. At first I did not comprehend what was happening and then I realized the loud voice was talking to ME. It was not God, it was Metro (Vegas police). I guess I was driving without my lights on and they were telling me to turn on the headlights. Ya, in Vegas they do not have the time and energy to pull you over for minor stuff like that, they just let you know through the megaphone and you are good.
Well.....after like I said, two hours or so we decided to leave. No more excitement, time to go to bed. I am a boring fogbone nowadays.

I know that there has been more "action" outside ICE Portland at times. Stay safe people.

Week 41 & 42

Week 41, I was only there Friday and Saturday but it felt like forever. Nothing stands out except the guy that brought a book to the club and sat at the bar at READ for hours, yes HOURS. I guess he had been there Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday as well with the book and then made sure to bring himself and the book Friday and Saturday as well. Ok.....you read books.....wow.
I do too. But in my opinion, there is a time and place for everything. Reading a book at the coffee shop, park, in your car, at the doctor's office while waiting for your appointment, at a reastaurant - yes. But if you go to a strip club and decide to read a book? I feel it is offensive. And other co workers of mine felt the same way. I read books and magazines in the club too (in the dressing room), when I have nothing to do. But I do not go to a club as a patron and bring a book to read. If I go to a strip club (which is rare) I look at the girls and appreciate them. Anyhow, he looked lame as fuck with his book. Like...you read? Impressive......NOT.
We were so slow Friday, until around 11 pm that I entertained myself with by taking terribly vulgar pictures of myself. Like this one for example.
Saturday a girl came up to me and said that every time she comes in my hair looks gorgeous. Really? Thank You. She must have seen me only when I have a good hair day.
Week 42. On Wednesday I was very popular for some reason. One older man sat at my first stage, I asked him if he was OK because he was like shaking. Then he got a dance. At the end, he was close to tears and said that I made his year and that he will remember me and the lapdance for the rest of his life. He was sober and sounded sincere. That was actually one of the nicest compliments I have ever gotten. To him, that dance and our interaction meant something deeper than just a lapdance.
I gave him a couple of good hugs and told him to take good care and come back if he wants to talk. I think he is lonely. I was pretty busy that whole night. It was a positive and fun shift. Good interactions with many people. I love it when it is like that.
We did have a group of very intoxicated men in there for a while. One of them was extremely loud. So loud that the bartender told him to leave. Again, it is a strip club not a gathering of you and your dude friends around the fire pit out back.
Another guy told me that he was getting a divorce after 18 years of marriage and 22 years together, I could tell that he was sad.
I listened to him and gave him a hug. He thanked me. I understand, sometimes you just need somebody to talk to.
On Friday some guy declared that there were so many drunks that could not handle their liquor in the club. Yes I know. Many of the girls that I work with do not drink alcohol at all while they are at the club.
A girl came in, she decided that I was her favorite and thought that I looked like a "natural majestic mermaid". Yes that would be me, the majestic mermaid......lol. She dances at a club in Portland, I might go visit and say hi next time I am there. And check out her club, she referred to it as a gentleman's club.
The heater is back in the dressing room. I spend a lot of time hibernating in there. I am cold a lot in the club. I wear thigh highs for a few different reasons. I am cold and they keep me warm. My legs are often hairy so nobody can see the hair.
And my legs are out of shape. I have not been inside a gym since over five years. And I am so used to wearing some sort of thigh high by now and feel "naked" if I do not wear any.
Lavender joined me and the heater, she knits beautiful blankets.

Saturday I wrote the Swedish word of the day on the board - groda. Look it up.

The club smelled pretty bad all night Saturday. Many guys that had been crabbing and fishing that day came in wearing what they wore during those activites. Stinky. Yuck.
Then somebody threw up in the men's bathroom, I guess on the walls and the floor. I walked out of the dressing room and continued towards the front of the club and then I could smell something foul, the puke, so I turned around and went back into the normalcy of dressing room. Just gross.
Towards the end of the night I gave a dance to a very grateful man that told me he had not been touched for four years, since his divorce.
Dancers are social workers and therapist as well. I mean it. Appreciate the dancers. Thank You.

Protest

Depending on where you live in the world......you might be aware of (if living in the US) that there were many protests all over the US today. The protest was called NO KINGS and happened back in June as well.
Other countries showed support and people protested there too. Thousands of protests took place today and millions of people showed up. Same back in June.
In Astoria people gathered at the Astoria Armory for speeches and music performances. Oregon State Representative Cyrus Javadi was present and spoke. What is interesting is that he used to be a Republican but is now a Democrat.

These people were drumming and singing in honor of the Clatsop Indigenous People of the Pacific Northwest and the native people of the Yukon-Kuskokwin Delta in Alaska, an area that was recently badly damaged by severe storms.
It is easy to forget.....but before any white guys decided to "discover" what is today known as the USA, explore, take whatever they wanted and spread disease, there were native Americans living here.

After the assembly at the Astoria Armory, WE THE PEOPLE  joined the rest of the people standing on the sidewalk flanking Marine Drive.  Here are a few of the signs, of course there were MANY more.
But first GO FROGS!

I did not witness any violence, destruction or inappropriate behavior during the time I spent attending the NO KINGS protest today. A stark contrast to the J6 "protest" back in 2021 (which I did not attend in case I have to clarify that).
And yes I am very much aware of that nobody is a king here in the US, look at "king" being used as a metaphor. But certain behaviors have pointed to some sort of a wish for an autocracy in the US. So I understand why people protest.

Saddle Mountain

This week I hiked Saddle Mountain, the highest mountain in Clatsop County. That is Saddle Mountain that you see in the background. You get to the trailhead by Highway 26, also called Sunset Highway.
A gorgeous day for a hike. It was like perfect.

You can see the ocean when you get high enough. Not in this picture though. But it is there.....in the background.

Almost there......you can see the top of the mountain.

Keep on going!

Made it.

There was a special kind of silence up there. In a good way. Like a deep silence.

Fall is here......it feels a bit sad somehow. The leaves are falling, it has not started to rain a lot, yet.

The hike from the trailhead to the summit and back took 3 1/2 hours. We spent maybe 10-15 for short breaks and photos. It is not what I would call an easy hike. It is strenous at times but not technically difficult. Very scenic and beautiful.

Without Senna

One year ago my Senna passed away, or I should say went somewhere else. One year without Senna. She was such an amazing beautiful dog and I love her and I miss her and I am sitting here crying because I do not want to face one more day with the pain of loss and I know that this kind of emotional pain will never go away and it is only going to get worse. Kaya lost her companion as well. They had each other and now Kaya is by herself at home if I can't bring her with me. I spend as much time as possible with Kaya but she cannot go everyhere with me. I hope to be reunited with ALL of my pets one day, from the childhood pets to my last pet......whenever that will be.
I took Senna's pawprints and a little heart that has some of her fur inside of it on a walk today that we did many times. I really miss her so very much.

Jane Goodall

Jane Goodall left the planet last week, she was 91. What a fantastic human being, what a role model. THAT is a role model in my opinion. I watched the documentary called Famous Last Words: Dr. Jane Goodall, on Netflix and I think it should be mandatory for every child over the age of 5 and every adult to watch it at least once, if not twice.

To pull some opinions from Dr. Goodall, on farm animals, "far more aware and intelligent than we ever imagined and, despite having been bred as domestic slaves, they are individual beings in their own right. As such, they deserve our respect. And our help. Who will plead for them if we are silent?" And on animals, "thousands of people who say they 'love' animals sit down once or twice a day to enjoy the flesh of creatures who have been treated with so little respect and kindness just to make more meat."
I do not eat meat because I LOVE animals and I KNOW that they have feelings. I can absolutely do better. I still eat milk products. And I know what the milk industry does to cows and calves, it is nothing nice to put it mildly. I admire vegans.
I believe that my journey in this life is to become a better human and do good, make a difference in the world. It is my duty. Every day I can do something good, even if it is to pick up litter and throw it in a trash bin.
Almost all of us can do better.
