Squash Blossoms

I have squash blossoms (aka zucchini flowers) growing in my garden. I heard that you can eat them but I never tried them until yesterday. I went to a local place for dinner and saw that the restaurant had of course I wanted to see what it was all about.
I am not sure what they tasted like because they were filled with a cheese that made them taste like....cheese. They looked pretty on the plate though. Now the question is.....should I eat the squash blossoms that are growing in my garden? I'm scared! :-)

Yes, you are right. The squash blossoms in the garden look a bit past their due date nowadays. I might have waited too long.
