Lava River Cave

Today I went to Lava River was 80 something degrees outside and sunshine but the temperature inside the cave is 42 degrees F. I realized that I forgot my tennis shoes and socks at home when almost at the destination, so I schlepped down into the underworld in my flip flops. It is about one mile to walk until you are not allowed to continue and my poor feet got numb from the cold on the way back. And I didn't see any bats although they live in the cave but are seldom seen because they are shy. We walked all the way to the end and it is a cool experience, make sure you check it out if you are ever around Central Oregon.
And here are some pics from today's trip......

I have two more trips planned this week that I am looking forward to!
