Back From Anchorage

Welcome to Chaos !!

Back From Anchorage

Phew.....I had a loooooong day today but I'm finally home, back from Anchorage......I had an errand to take care of there today. I got up at 7 am this morning with only about four hours of sleep, I didn't sleep well last night. Weird dreams and mosquitoes buzzing around. And I pulled into my driveway a little after 11 pm. I am tired. It takes about 3 hours to drive to Anchorage (give or take 30 minutes depending on the season, traffic, road construction, pee stops). It was GORGEOUS out today but I didn't take any pics of the mountains, water and the green hills. Instead here is the sandwich I had at Middle Way Cafe - the avocado melt.
Listen, you need to go there (if you ever visit Anchorage) and have that sandwich.....it is soooo good. I have fantasized about that sandwich since yesterday. I love Middle Way Cafe! When I lived in Anchorage I used to go there several times a week.

While enjoying my sandwich and sipping on my delicious Sattwa Chai I read the Savage Love column. I love Savage Love (I love all kinds of things in case you haven't noticed yet, I'm easy like that) and I learned about UNICORNS. See a unicorn is not only a horse with a horn projecting from it's forehead. It's also a woman that is willing to have sex with a couple (like a woman and man couple, not a man plus man couple or woman plus woman couple) fulfilling their threesome fantasy. I guess women willing to do just that are so rare they are called unicorns. I learned something new today! A new meaning for the word unicorn. I've been asked to be a "unicorn" (LOL!!!) a few times, I said no. I might say yes if Rihanna and Bradley Cooper team up and ask me, until then.....NO. Or Rihanna and Chester.....that's also a yes.
I know I'm tired cause I'm rambling now.....
So I believe in signs. I've been seeing so many signs lately.....that make sense to me. Last night I thought that the pink unicorn in the RAV4 Toyota ad was very cute, I thought that I needed that car because it had a cute pink unicorn on it's roof. If something is cute and pink, I need it. Then today I learned a new meaning of the word unicorn. My conclusion? It's a sign that I need a brand new RAV4 Toyota!

When I drove through Soldotna this evening I had to stop and get something to eat. I had acute cravings for yogurt and sauerkraut. No, I'm not pregnant, I am European. People were in line buying beer, soda and meat. It's 4th of July tomorrow after all. And I got this..... :-D

When I got home I devoured some sauerkraut straight from the jar.....it's good for you!
My Mom makes sauerkraut soup, it is sooooo good. Kapuśniak it's called.
One more thing. Here are the strip clubs in Anchorage.....The Great Alaskan Bush Company, Fantasies on 5th and Sin Rock. Well, there is one more.....Crazy Horse. But they don't advertise in the Press (weekly free paper that comes out in Anchorage). Which one should you go to? Try all four. Then decide on which one you like the best. I used to work at the Bush Company. I might go back again for two weeks or so, I have been entertaining the thought......I think it would be fun. If I can deal with the schedule that is.....

Well, I have to take out my contacts now and go to sleep.....I am TIRED.

Ah , can I request a blog topic?

As a guy and car enthusiast I want to know more about your fleet of vehicles.

    You have a 4 runner and a Ford f-250?
Why two cars, why those , and which do you prefer and when?
    Any stories about them?

You wrote that you twice ended up in the ditch with the Ford.
Is it a 4wd and what type of winter tires do you have on it?
  2. TATIANA Post author on :

    My fleet of vehicles.....LOL.
I have a Toyota 4Runner in Vegas also.....1989. It looks like a Mad Max vehicle, I love it.

No more 4Runner up here, it broke down and I sold it. That was my baby and I was sad to let her go. 😥
Only the Ford F250 now. I don't know what tires I have, something big. I don't use winter tires, I have the same year round. Easier like that. It's a four wheel drive yes and a V8.
    A beast.

What engine has it? The four cylinder or the V6?
    Auto or manual gearbox?

"No more 4Runner up here, it broke down and I sold it. That was my baby and I was sad to let her go. 😥"

Too little information! What happened, what was it that broke? Did it have similar engine/gearbox as the Vegas 4runner?
Did you like it more than the ford?

"Only the Ford F250 now. I don't know what tires I have, something big. I don't use winter tires, I have the same year round. Easier like that."

    Well girl , there's your problem. ;-)
You should use dubbdäck ( studded tires ) in the Alaskan winter which often is worse than the Swedish , preferable of the Nordic type and not some cheap us made stuff.
How can it be easier to get stuck and not have the same control over the car when its icy ? Think about all the animals you may have to brake for or swerve around...

And changing tires yourself from winter to summer tires and back twice a year prepares you for the moment you have a flat and need to change to the spare.

Could you take a good photo of the sidewall and text on one of the tires so I can see what type you have and how bad it is?;)
They could be of the American "all season" type that is illegal to use in the winter here in Sweden.

    4 cylinder automatic.

My tires are great....I'm not too worried about it. I haven't caused any harm to myself or anyone else while driving in AK....animals included.

You should test a similar truck with good ( Nordic style ) studded winter tires on ice the coming winter to see the difference.
Just ask a place that sells them, they should be glad to find a truck and let you try.

I've read your experience with meeting a car head on in your lane and you having to evade to avoid a collision.
Part of driving is avoiding other peoples stupidity and mistakes, and have the means to do it.

I dont know how often you go to Anchorage in the winter, but I know what I would want on my ride doing that trip.

I assume it's like norrland, with long dark empty icy roads.
I would put some extraljus (auxiliary lights) on the truck too.

You can then drive faster and still be safer.

I'm still curious how your newer 4runner broke down, Toyotas usually last long.

Did you try to work on the other clubs?
  7. TATIANA Post author on :

No....I only worked at the Bush Co. You are en employee of the club, they pay you an hourly wage and you also have a set schedule. I did not have the time or energy to work at any other clubs in town when I was at the Bush.
Would I had tried the others? Probably not. Sin Rock caters to a very young crowd, the girls are very young also and I get a pedophilia vibe from the place, plus they do weird stuff there like shower shows and strange girl on girl stuff. No thanks, I do not do that.
    Like gross.
Fantasies on 5th never appealed to me. Don't know why.
And Crazy Horse seems like a dump but I could be wrong. There can be money to be made in dumps though, especially if most of the other girls are kind of not so attractive.....

Isn't it at least a 21 age limit if they serve alcohol in the club, how could that be "pedophilia"?

So isn't it time you go there and show who's on top?;)
Try it once , it cant be worse than some clubs you've been to?
But you dont need to do the girl on girl and shower shows if you dont like to if you work there?

    It's a rock club, right?
I want to get a chance to suggest some Swedish metal I like that you could dance to.;-)
To hear if the rednecks over there like it.
  9. TATIANA Post author on :

LOL. Swedish metal and the rednecks over here.....!
Sin Rock is a strip club.....why they added the word "rock" to the clubs name I don't know but it has nothing to do with being a rock club.
It's an 18 and over club. So I'd rather not even bother. No, it's not actual pedophilia but close enough to me. The girls in there look and act very young. I felt bad for them the one time I was in there to check the place out.....so no thanks on working there. I can always work at the Bush if I want to. And I rather do that than Sin Rock.
